De Swarte Ruijter offers luxurious rooms with a private terrace in a traditional thatched cottage, in the village of Holten. The property is nestled in the beautiful national forest and a 300 metre walk in the woods to the Canadian War Cemetery. We did not eat onsite but hear it is superb. We enjoyed lovely wines at the bar. Crisp clean sheets and very clean room with small desk area and small patio.

With garden views, De Lindenberg is located in Holten and has a restaurant, a kids' club, bar, garden, seasonal outdoor pool and playground. The Bungalows were spacious and had great facilities. The Pool was well sized and had a section for young toddlers (My daughter loved playing in that area). There is a spacious kids play area (The jumping castle was a highlight). The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly. It was nice to have a hedge around the house as it provided some privacy. The surroundings are beautiful on foot and by bike.
Holton is a very quaint small town with lots of restaurants and beautiful clean streets and houses. There is not a particular tourist destinations that I could see other than the Canadian World War II cemetery with the Holden people maintain for veterans lost in WWII
