What did we like? Everything! We were there for the Operation Market Garden commemorations and the property is located just a fifteen minute walk from the drop zone, where, indeed, I parachuted on one of the commemoration days. And if you are into that part of history, then you are within easy reach by car of all the British sites from the battle: the Airborne Museum at the Hartenstein in Oosterbeek, the Airborne Cemetery, alsoin Oosterbeek, Arnhem Bridge, the St Elisabeth's Hospital, the Old Church in Oosterbeek, and many other sites. The village of Heelsum is delightful: clean, quiet, well-kept. There is a supermarket just a few minutes walk from the property, also a place where you can rent bikes. The property itself is comfortable, clean and well equipped, with a strong "at-home" feel to it. You can sit outside on the small porch and enjoy a meal there, and even though it is close to the main house where the hosts live, you have all the privacy you need. As for the hosts: I have stayed at many B&B-type properties in the Netherlands and France, and Betty and Sjaak are the kindest, most considerate, and helpful hosts you could hope to have. We are definitely going back. What a wonderful trip we had!

Great location, a few minutes from Wageningen central, we loved the countryside feeling. We could jog in the park in the morning, it was quiet and very pleasant

Knus Chalet is not a hotel, so we provided our own meals. The kitchen is well stocked, and the accommodations are spacious, with a sun room, living area, bedroom, bath, kitchenette and fenced backyard with outdoor furniture. There is a laundromat on the property and a reception area, plus other seasonal facilities. The surroundings are pastoral, with fields and woods mixed with homes. The university is nearby as well as shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and other businesses. This was not a vacation but a business trip that met at a conference center nearby. There are bicycles available for rent, and although we haven't been on bicycles in more than 10 years, we enjoyed them and they helped get us to where we needed to go. Wageningen is very bicycle friendly.
