We stayed in the Cellar room which at first, entering through the tiny door from the outside of the hotel was unusual but actually it was a unique experience. Not recommended for the elderly as you have to duck your head whilst going through the door to the cellar room. Once down there, it was an amazing curved room with a curved ceiling. Plenty of room and hanging space. Bathroom and shower were great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely blend of old and new. Lots of arty, quirky and retro style shops around the Donkerk and Domtoren but also an amazing ultra modern mall by the station with the obligatory Dutch canals, crowds of speeding cyclists and a variety of cuisines available. Much nicer than Amsterdam to be honest.

Utrecht is rich in places to visit but parking all through the center is 40+ Euro a day! P&R is cheap and available and recommandable! Overall Public Transport (OV) is very good, cheap and on time. The bikes are the best way and by far the prefered way of discovering this city. You will be amazed at the ease of this kind of transport; rental bikes of all kinds are readily available.

Of course you'll visit Amsterdam if you're in the Netherlands. But for authentic Dutch charm in a walkable city that isn't overrun by tourists, Utrecht is way, way better, by orders of magnitude. From the city center you can get anywhere you want to go in a comfortable walk, and the streets are filled with interesting canals, churches, museums, cafes, restaurants, shops, and friendly people, almost all of whom speak English. Some of our favorite stops were the Speelklok Museum and the Castle Den Haar, which is about 20 minutes outside town by car.

The city is stunning. The people were helpful to tourists. The sporting events, European Women's Softball Championships and the King and Queen of the Court Beach Volleyball were going on the same week and it set utrecht at a top location for major sporting events for minor sports. The presentation and production of both of those events exceeded my expectations.

I only had a quick trip to Utrecht this summer (more of a stay-over for one day during a longer trip actually) but I'll always warmly recommend this destination because it is a lovely city with an amazing and charming city center where anyone can have a fantastic time.
I used to live there 15 years ago and I was happy to see that Utrecht still has all its assets. It's a very under-rated destination in the Netherlands that anyone should absolutely try and discover if given the chance.
Excellent location, a stone's throw from Utrecht Centraal and the old city centre. The room was spacious enough for two people and had all the needed facilities. Comfy beds. Coffee machine and tea + Earth water provided. Cool interior design. The staff at reception was friendly and professional, even in the middle of the night. At just below 60€ pp per night this was one of the best hotel stays either of us has ever had, and we will definitely be back the next time we visit Utrecht.
The hotel is located in a historic house in the Museum neighbourhood of Utrecht, the southern part of the old city centre. Rooms are nicely decorated in traditional Dutch style with high ceilings and big windows. Breakfast is served directly in the room. The hotel has a nice view on the main canal in Utrecht and it is at walking distance from all attractions. There is also a parking not far from the hotel if you are coming by car.
It was a wonderful self catering apartment with a great balcony overlooking the Maliesingel. Perfect. The kitchen was adequate, a liitle light on with pots and pans. No lid for frying pans etc, Great coffee machine, close to AH and other supermarkets, wonderful walking areas perfect location to the centre and train , bus station.
A Fabulous Utrecht Experience.
Bed super comfy!!!!!!
The hotel has a great location just outside the Utrecht city center and easily accessible on foot or by bicycle.
Our room was overlooking a lovely tree fringed lake with ducks and other birds around.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a tub as well as a shower.
Everything was modern, clean and comfortable yet not over priced.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful.
Quiet location, Utrecht is very noisy at night. Walking distance to station and city centre. Lovely garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and Bistro.
