Boasting Europe's biggest port, Rotterdam mixes typical old canals with 21st century architecture. Home to a multicultural society due to it's international trade, this city also houses important cultural institutions like the Erasmus University and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Including bustling terraces and exotic restaurants, Rotterdam resembles a global bazaar!
Known as ‘Manhattan on the Meuse River’, Rotterdam is a haven for architects and the city’s skyline includes the Cube Houses, the Erasmus Bridge, and brand new ‘Kop van Zuid’ business area.
Energetic and sparkling, the city centre is a shopper's paradise: the Cool District has modern shops and department stores on streets like the Lijnbaan and Hoogstraat. Don’t miss the exclusive Van Oldebarneveltstraat if you prefer small and trendy boutique shops.
The Maritime Museum offers an open-air collection of ships, cranes and machinery. Moored on the south bank, the transatlantic liner SS Rotterdam is also worth a visit. Before landing at The Hague Rotterdam Airport, be sure not to miss the views of the buzzing harbour from the aeroplane.
Whether you’re looking for a cosy B&B or a hip hotel made of glass and steel, Booking.com offers a wide variety of accommodation in the ‘World City’.

Maritime Museum was brilliant, Museum Park was good and a walking tour was informative. Euromast was good for scenic views. Historic Delfthaven was not as good as the write ups, so it was slightly disappointing. Cube houses are an architectural oddity and the market hall is vast with a massive roof painting. The city was clean, and you felt safe walking around. Food was very good where we were, the old harbour, Little V and Loejte all provided great quilty food at fair prices. It's easy city to walk around for the tourist sights.

Great bars and restaurants and a lovely vibrant city with excellent transport links. Recommend De Witte Aap, Dutch Dukes for drinks, Jordys Bakery for breakfast/lunch and The Very Italian Pizza restaurant for super food. Erasmus Bridge and De Kuyp stadium tours certainly worth a visit.

Beautiful and lively city in itself, but also a base for exploration of other locations - The Hague, Kinderdijk, Gouda etc.
Moya Tapas Club in the Hague offers wonderful sea bass dish, but their Pavlova is a true pornstar! In Rotterdam itself, be sure to visit the Market hall near metro station Blaak for a lunch. Nearby is a Cubic house, which is also worth visiting.
If you have a bank card with chip, don't make a mistake I did - instead of buying a daily ticket card, use OV pay feature - just tap with your card on gates/validators for checking in and out for paying in every train/tram/bus/boat. But be aware that you may need a backup card because one of my cards failed to work in the metro and on the railway; the other one worked.

Beautiful city, didn't get to visit all of it as I was focused on a convention that was happening at the time.
Next time I will most likely experience the city by cycling, as this seems to be a big part of NL culture.
Loved the Euromast!

I love my stay in Rotterdam cos of many spotting activities, restaurants are everywhere around the city centre where I stayed, it was fun and lively. It was my first-time visiting Rotterdam, but it was easy for me getting rides considering different public transport options within and outside the city, Train, metro, ramp, cycles everything.
Our stay in Rotterdam accidentally coincided with Kings Day (27 April) and we really appreciated the hotel's location on a quiet side street - the city was having one gigantic, very noisy party and we had a nice place to go to escape from it! The bed was huge and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and smart. All of the members of staff were friendly and helpful. We did not opt for breakfast, which was not in our bit of the hotel anyway, but there were some very good cafes not far away serving eggs, pancakes etc.
The hotel was extremely good. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. The beds and the pillows were exceptional, in fact the best I have ever slept in, as the rest of my group also agreed. It was well located for what we wanted from a long weekend in Rotterdam. There is also a tram stop right outside the hotel, which we made good use of. Very close to some lovely bars. All in all we had a fabulous weekend in Rotterdam. I would most definitely stay at the Mainport, should I return to Rotterdam.
The hotel is in a good position, very near to the central station and from it is possible to walk to the city centrum in about 15 minutes. The price is high for the offer, but lower compared to the average in the Netherlands. The breakfast was acceptable.
Very convenient location, about 5 mins walk from Centraal station and also very near and walkable to the Centrum shopping areas, eateries, fast food, supermarket, etc. A very clean hotel with an awesome team of friendly staff. Thumbs up.
Marco is the best host I’ve seen in Netherlands . Also his breakfast ( he made it himself) is so delicious. The vicinity of hotel is so easy to travel all the city by foot. If I travel to Rotterdam again, I will stay in here again :)
