FAQs about hotels in Brussels

Chocolate Capital of Europe

Brussels is well-known as the headquarters of many European institutions and is often called the capital of Europe. However, Belgian waffles, beer and chocolate are just a few of the city’s best-known delicacies that can rival its political reputation.

French and Dutch are city’s two official languages so all streets and landmarks have two different names: don’t be surprised when you look for Grand Place and end up on Grote Markt!

Don’t miss the famous bronze statue aptly named Manneken Pis or the futuristic Atomium, a truly unique architectural creation. Wandering through side streets to discover small bookshops, romantic cafés and ethnic restaurants reveals Brussel's charm.

Brussels is a real melting pot of Europe, filled with great museums and art from Memling, Bosch or Rubens, historic breweries and great concert halls. Shopping addicts can visit the world’s first shopping mall, the Saint Hubert Gallery, opened here in 1847.

If you’re arriving at Brussels Airport or South Charleroi Airport, all major attractions are just a short train or bus ride away. Whether you’re looking for a design hotel, a comfortable apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has something perfect for your Brussels trip.

It’s easy to get about in Brussels with public transport and taxi Just don’t get confused with which mainline station you want or you have to run around stations to retrace your steps or continue on to the next station Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Being able to speak a bit of French is a bonus The food was mostly great , but some of the Moroccan inspired dishes were a step too far for my palate I will be going back for a longer visit

I liked the liveliness of the city, the numerous interesting places to visit: medieval quarter, Art Nouveau houses, the exhibition on the painter Folon (until September 2024), the Fondation Jacques Brel, parks and churches... I wasn't impressed by the numerous roadworks that are taking place at the moment (June 2024) as it spoiled a bit of my stay. But I will be happy to go back to Brussels and see an improved city when the roadworks are finished.

It is a city that does not offer many points of interest.

It is a city that does not offer many points of interest. What I liked the most is that they have many parks and there is a lot of greenery. The central area is quite dirty and does not seem very safe (especially the Central Station area). I didn't like the food at all. I visited a nearby city every day and these visits were very pleasant (I recommend: Namur, Leuven, Mechelen, and Ghent and Brugge are fairytale cities)

I best western quality adapted to the city center. I am used to more spacious and luxurious facilities in Best Western Hotels in general. In this case, as it is in the city centre, some compromises are necessary. Spacious rooms, clean, quiet (except from the heating system which you must turn off during the night otherwise the fan won't let you sleep). Most stuff were friendly, especially the gentleman at the breakfast in the morning (who is friendly and talkative).

+ Friendly and helpful staff at reception who really went the extra mile. This is one of the best customer experiences I've had in a hotel at any price point. + Quiet, modern, and well-equipped room (the TV and bathroom were great) + Right next to Gare du Midi, 15 mins walk to city centre albeit through a slightly rough neighborhood + Value for money. One of the best places in Brussels.
