Located 5 minutes' drive from the center of Queenstown, Kamana Lakehouse offers stunning views over Lake Wakatipu and the iconic Remarkables mountain range. First off: the staff was amazing. We stayed two nights: one night before, and one night after a hiking trip. The staff kept our luggage during the hike, and had it ready in our rooms when we arrived for our second night. They were always very friendly and helpful! The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The bus stop was not too far (and, depending on the amount of luggage you have, it's even walkable from downtown Queenstown). I can only recommend Kamana Lakehouse!
Hotel in Queenstown
Close to the shores of Lake Wakatipu and 5 minutes' walk from the center of Queenstown, the Copthorne Hotel & Resort is a 4-star property overlooking the lake. Loved the room. Had absolutely stunning views of the lake and the mountains. It was a blissful scene to wake up to every day. The location was perfect. Town was 5 mins walk away or if you want a slightly longer, more beautiful walk, go down to the lake and walk round and through the gardens. The hotel staff were wonderful. I explained that I was enduring morning sickness and they offered me late check out which was so lovely. The staff were also knowledgeable about what was going on in the area and told us that winter pride was happening that day so we went and checked it out and had a great time. For the location, cost and view, this hotel smashed it. Would highly recommend to any travellers.

Many families visiting Queenstown loved staying at The Spire Hotel, Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park, and Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel.
The people of Queenstown are so beautiful just like the scenery all around. We are considering moving there lol. There’s so much to do here you’ll love it. Definitely a bucket list place to visit ♥️ The restaurants especially Fogo’s Brazilian BBQ wow you’ll never be disappointed ☺️
I loved Queenstown, a few shops had closed due to covid, which is unfortunate, there are a lot of job vacancies all around town, but the tour operator's were up and going, Queenstown needs your support to get back to how it used to be.
Many places still having staff shortages, so you have to check the event you plan to do before you head there. The shops/hospitality that is open are all super accommodating and great service/host.
Certainly a great Town to visit if you love adventure. There is so much to do in Queenstown but you do need your wallet full. Loved our stay. Must dos are the Gondola, a jetboat ride and the Earnslaw boat ride across to Walter Peak.
The view is truly perfect in autumn and the water in the lake is crystal clean! Many awesome restaurant can be chosen. Although I didn't play the Luge or take the Gondola, it looked quite fun. The best restaurant is "FINZ Seafood & Grill". You've got to try the seafood platter! Ezi is definitely the best car renting company. I would avoid "FergBurger" next time which is such a disappointment and is not worth the wait. The "Ferg Burger" one doesn't have flavor at all. Only BurgerFuel can be called Kiwi burger.
Queenstown is a great location to base yourself for exploring the area. Unfortunately the central town is under major construction...cant believe that this work couldn't have been more progressed before the opening up to tourists. The town mayor seems great at wanting the tourists back but has forgot his main job of making sure his town is up to hosting them.
Room has this hippie vibe. Stayed one night in a one-bedroom apartment with my family. It has a kitchenette. It was a plus for me that Sherwood is an eco-friendly place. Most of the amenities are vintage but works perfectly fine. So cool! There was a small kelvinator fridge. They also provided milk placed in a small glass bottle. Tea towels were provided instead. Cups are available. No microwave. The location was perfect; close to Queenstown CBD. There are outdoor recreational areas-- enjoyed playing table tennis! The view was exceptional too!
The bathroom was amazing. We definitely utilised the bath during our stay. The bed was really comfy and the room was lovely and warm (winter). The view from our room was exceptional we had a small balcony to really enjoy the sights of Queenstown. The hotel was close to central Queenstown and so leaving the car at the hotel and walking to where we needed to go was a bonus. With the hotel being so close to the city you would expect a bit of traffic/pedestrian noise but it was really quiet. The facilities were modern clean and trendy.
Queenstown
This property exceeded my expectations, it might be slightly further from the centre of Queenstown than some other places but it's still short, and it's a lovely flat stroll along the edge of the lake to get there so definitely a lot easier than hiking up the hill to most of the other hotels after a day of skiing! The bathrooms appear to have been renovated since they took their booking.com photos, the rooms are spacious, the beds comfy, the staff helpful, location's great and the price is super cheap!
Queenstown
Great location, close to bus stops, a few mins walk to city centre, and very peaceful away from heavy traffic noise. Room was clean, spacious, warm and very comfortable with quality appliances. Service was always friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was generous. Wifi worked well as with the TVs in each room, we had everything we needed for a much-needed break away and enjoy what beautiful Queenstown had to offer. We'll be back and highly recommend to others!
Queenstown
I stayed in this hostel before and it’s a pretty nice hostel and very cheap. Jucy has always good deals. The rooms are very nice, you’ve got your own private pod with plug sockets, air condition, a light and some storage space. Jucy has also a nice rooftop bar with a great atmosphere and view over Queenstown. I would always come back!
Really modern and clean, great location just a short walk from the centre of Queenstown. Staff were super helpful and friendly. This is a perfect base for a stay in Queenstown. The room is compact but perfect for what we needed. Loved the vending machine for hot drinks - hot chocolate is the best!
Fantastic location. Easy walk to centre of Queenstown, and to Gondola. Everyone was very friendly, and always very helpful. Breakfast always superb. Complementary pre-dining drinks are well organised. A superbly run, well appointed hotel. We will certainly stay here again.
Queenstown
Great location to centre of Queenstown. Wonderful view of Queenstown.A good workout walking back up the hill. The wood burner and supply of wood was a great assess in the frosty mornings, and coming back after a day at the snow.Great kitchen with excellent views.
Very comfortable. Loved the laundry and kitchen facilities. View was also good (apart from construction going on). Very friendly staff. Convenient location near The Remarkables shopping centre and short drive to airport and Queenstown waterfront.
Queenstown
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, they real couldn't do enough for you. the location was great as so easy to access the centre of Queenstown and always ample parking available.
The location was great just a 5minute walk to central Queenstown. No breakfast facility. Have slept in a lot of hotels, but the bed here was very comfortable and view of Frankton arm was amazing.
The hotel was close to the centre of town and came with parking if you were first in. My room didn’t have a view, but that didn’t matter. The price came with an excellent breakfast.
Well I’m m not rating Rydges because this hotel moved us next door to Peppers Beacon in Queenstown! And they as a hotel was excellent in every way possible!
Not much! The location in proximity to town centre is there but you’d get similar star hotels even closer to the town centre in Queenstown.

It is outside Queenstown town centre, which was really nice away from the hustle and bustle. The view from hotel is lovely.
