Located 5 minutes' drive from the center of Queenstown, Kamana Lakehouse offers stunning views over Lake Wakatipu and the iconic Remarkables mountain range. First off: the staff was amazing. We stayed two nights: one night before, and one night after a hiking trip. The staff kept our luggage during the hike, and had it ready in our rooms when we arrived for our second night. They were always very friendly and helpful! The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The bus stop was not too far (and, depending on the amount of luggage you have, it's even walkable from downtown Queenstown). I can only recommend Kamana Lakehouse!

Close to the shores of Lake Wakatipu and 5 minutes' walk from the center of Queenstown, the Copthorne Hotel & Resort is a 4-star property overlooking the lake. Loved the room. Had absolutely stunning views of the lake and the mountains. It was a blissful scene to wake up to every day. The location was perfect. Town was 5 mins walk away or if you want a slightly longer, more beautiful walk, go down to the lake and walk round and through the gardens. The hotel staff were wonderful. I explained that I was enduring morning sickness and they offered me late check out which was so lovely. The staff were also knowledgeable about what was going on in the area and told us that winter pride was happening that day so we went and checked it out and had a great time. For the location, cost and view, this hotel smashed it. Would highly recommend to any travellers.

Many places still having staff shortages, so you have to check the event you plan to do before you head there. The shops/hospitality that is open are all super accommodating and great service/host.
Certainly a great Town to visit if you love adventure. There is so much to do in Queenstown but you do need your wallet full. Loved our stay. Must dos are the Gondola, a jetboat ride and the Earnslaw boat ride across to Walter Peak.
The view is truly perfect in autumn and the water in the lake is crystal clean! Many awesome restaurant can be chosen. Although I didn't play the Luge or take the Gondola, it looked quite fun. The best restaurant is "FINZ Seafood & Grill". You've got to try the seafood platter! Ezi is definitely the best car renting company. I would avoid "FergBurger" next time which is such a disappointment and is not worth the wait. The "Ferg Burger" one doesn't have flavor at all. Only BurgerFuel can be called Kiwi burger.
Queenstown is a great location to base yourself for exploring the area. Unfortunately the central town is under major construction...cant believe that this work couldn't have been more progressed before the opening up to tourists. The town mayor seems great at wanting the tourists back but has forgot his main job of making sure his town is up to hosting them.
We’ve visited Queenstown many times as we live close by. As the family has grown so has the cost to do things to keep the kids amused. Even with ‘covid’ prices the things to do are still expensive so be prepared to either do a select few activities or to take plenty of spending money. Try and plan the activities and look online for the pricing before you go and make a plan, that way you won’t be overwhelmed with how much things cost. The gondola/luge is fun but take your time to enjoy it. Fear factory is a fun group activity but scarier in small parties (3-4 people). TS Earnslaw is perfect for families and a relaxing way to pass the time.
My favourite places in Queenstown were the Onsen Hot Pools, Shotover Jet and the Skyline Gondola and Luge. We also tried the famous Fergburger and I can confirm it was the best burger I had ever had! We hired a car which made it a lot easier to get around queenstown as our accommodation and activities were quite spread out from eachother.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. Everything was delightful, from the beautiful quirky decor, the friendly helpful and polite staff, to the complimentary drinks and snacks. The location is great, it is just a short walk into the centre of Queenstown. The hotel is very clean and has everything you would need for a relaxing stay. I could see the snow capped mountains from my room, which was a treat to wake up to. I highly recommend staying here and I can’t wait to come back again.
This was a fantastic hotel. Loved the concept, your room is controlled by your mobile phone. From your room key to lighting, heating and aircon. Simply brilliant. Free tea/coffee facilities on each floor and social points so you can socialise with other travellers. Our room was number 510 and we had an excellent view of the gondolas going up and down. Perfect location 5 min from the centre of Queenstown. Would stay here Again recommend to anyone looking for location in queenstown.
Fern Hill, Queenstown
OMG where do I start. Gorgeous view in the living room, bedroom and bathroom. Such woo factor when u entering the house. Totally seperate living unit from others, nice and quite. Even got ur own garage. Friendly reception, everything is tidy and clean. The view is much better than those so called water front hotels and the price is cheaper. It’s peaceful and shield itself way from the noise Queenstown centre. I lived in nz for over 12yrs and this is the best hotel I been so far.
Very spacious, nicely furnished apartment with floor-to-ceiling window stunning views across the lake to the Remarkables. Lots of storage space, well-equipped, serviced daily, continental breakfast delivered to the room at chosen time slot each morning. Queenstown Trail path could be joined just a few minutes walk away, and the town centre itself reached in 15-20minutes. Great end to our New Zealand holiday.
Great view overlooking the Shotover River, close to Queenstown, intimate and lovely small spa. Had a wonderful evening stargazing in an outside hot tub experience. We were unable to a river view and due to heating problems, the amazing staff member Chu got us upgraded to an apartment in their newly built premises next to the hotel. Food love, well presented and very well priced.
Reception and hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Place is new, room was comfortable with modern facilities. Although facing roadside, the room we stayed in was quiet. Nice view from lobby, modern hotel concept which is nice. Great location and close to centre. Will definitely go back when in Queenstown again.
The hotel is located at the quiet side of Queenstown. We walked in and out of the city centre everyday with our 3 year old boy, even though we had a car. The room is spacious and the beds are huge. The boy enjoyed the bath before bed time and breakfast in bed next morning. I loved the spa. We’ll visit again.
Queenstown
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment which was perfect for two families. Stunning view and excellent location being walking distance to the centre of town. It was spotless clean and well appointed. Great communication from the owners and property manager. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Sherwood is a fantastic place to stay for a short or long visit to Queenstown. Only a short drive to the city centre, airport, Arrowtown and their eco/sustainable practices are amazing! They have board games and yoga and a one complimentary sangria for your stay per person.
Queenstown
Location was excellent! so close to the middle of town and the snow centre to get the bus to the ski field. Really appreciated having the on site car parks as parking in Queenstown is expensive. Reception staff were so helpful and friendly.
Kelvin Heights, Queenstown
Beautiful location, and if you utilise the water taxi that docks at the front of the hotel, transfers to Queenstown town centre is very cheap = otherwise a 10 min taxi ride will set you back close to $50 AUD!
Hotel was close to town and the Remarkables Shopping Centre so didn’t have to drive far at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also had an upstairs room with a very nice view of the lake.
A short stroll into town, great space in the remarkables apartment to spread out for a week but all the luxury of a hotel with access to room service and daily house keeping
Very good location for Queenstown, minutes walk from centre. Hotel had a nice feel to it, very homely. Staff were very accommodating, breakfast choice was very good
The hotel is pretty close to the city centre, 20 min walk. The lake view was awesome and also the breakfast was great.
Queenstown
The lake view and location was very easy walking distance to the centre of Queenstown
Queenstown
The staff very friendly and easy walk to Queenstown Centre, with off street parking.
The room was tastefully designed, modern and elegant but still cozy. We love the bathroom and bath tub so spacious! The view from our room was excellent and the bed was so comfortable. It is just a short walk to restaurants and cafes and everything else in Queenstown. Thank you!
Well I’m m not rating Rydges because this hotel moved us next door to Peppers Beacon in Queenstown! And they as a hotel was excellent in every way possible!
