Sad to see all the roadworks and the mall in town still unfinished- was there 12 months ago and not much has changed. Nice to see lots of visitors this time and very grateful to all the staff struggling to keep up with demand . Fabulous eating options and activities still for all age groups.
So many activities to choose from from the Underwater Shark Ride to a trip on the old Steamship "Earnslaw" or a ride up the Gondola for fantastic views as well as the chance to have a go on a high mountain luge - awesome. As for choosing somewhere to eat you cannot complain about choice. Everything from fast food to cafes and Michelin restaurants, you choose. Biggest issue at present is all the road works around CBD at the same time. Far too many for such a small place as traffic movement was so slow at times.
Queenstown's famous scenery did not disappoint, although the beauty of the lake front is somewhat let down by ugly tourist attractions. I hope they get the roadworks that are dominating the town centre completed soon as this was a very detracting feature. Rata restaurant is superb. Cowboys is fun for the younger ones. I lost my favourite expensive jumper but have to say that the taxi companies and police station could not have been more friendly and helpful in trying to help me get it back.
We found Queenstown is locked down with not a lot open on a Monday through to Thursday when it seems to come alive again. It seems to be all geared up for the weekenders only. Other people do travel on other days and would like to be able to find an open restaurant or go for a ride on the Gondola. You can not get a car park around town, most of the streets are a demolition sight and there are traffic hold ups.
The people of Queenstown are so beautiful just like the scenery all around. We are considering moving there lol. There’s so much to do here you’ll love it. Definitely a bucket list place to visit ♥️ The restaurants especially Fogo’s Brazilian BBQ wow you’ll never be disappointed ☺️
I loved Queenstown, a few shops had closed due to covid, which is unfortunate, there are a lot of job vacancies all around town, but the tour operator's were up and going, Queenstown needs your support to get back to how it used to be.
Wow. Lovely place overlooking the water. Rooms were very spacious and had long shared balconies. The bathroom was huge and all the decor was great. The restaurant is fantastic (although pricey - but well worth it for a treat). Try the wine that's bottled on-site at the hotel - delicious. Great, friendly reception staff (a man from Argentina). It's not central enough to walk into town - but is nice and quiet and makes a great change to the more vibey parts of Queenstown.
It was very peaceful and completely soundproof. It was very clean with a comfortable bed, good heating and facilities. We were warmly welcomed by a lady at the front desk who showed us through the hotel and we were able to enjoy complimentary drinks and nibbles which were a nice surprise. There is parking (which is unusual in Queenstown) which is not charged however it is an easy walk down to the city centre. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Highly recommend you stay at Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel when you next visit. The rooms are huge. Look at the view you get to wake up to every morning and come back to in the evening. You get breakfast and complimentary wine/beer/drinks and canapes in the evening. Walking distance to the beach. Most important the staff are amazing. Very friendly and you must get to know Ken the part owner and Lenny the Duty Manager.
The hotel is in essence a good option for price and quality in Queenstown if you choose to be close to the centre. The pedestrian area with all bars and restaurants is only a 5 minutes walk. Even though the room is a bit small, it is very functional. Also, not to mention that the check in and monitoring of the lights in the room can be all managed via their user-friendly app ! Overall good short stay !
We extended our stay in Queenstown because it’s so lovely. Our AirBnB was booked so we chose the Rees for our final night. Oh how we wish we had known about this hotel for our entire stay! There’s so much space in the rooms, a stunning view of the lake and friendly staff. And free laundry!! We couldn’t be more enthusiastic about recommending this hotel.
Queenstown
Spacious enough for 7 family members. Not really far from Arrowtown,Cromwell and City centre itself. U can go for budgy jumping, shotover jet and most activities are accesible from here. The owner of this home so friendly. We could communicate via whatsapp.
The hotel was close to the centre of town and came with parking if you were first in. My room didn’t have a view, but that didn’t matter. The price came with an excellent breakfast.
