Welcome to New Zealand’s adrenalin capital! There are a mountain of possibilities for your pleasure including bungee jumping, rafting, jet boating and skydiving. Overlooking the calm waters of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by peaceful mountains retreats like The Remarkables and Walter Peak, Queenstown is also party town with many cosy bars and cafés.
The best panoramas can be enjoyed when you take the Skyline Gondola up to Bob’s Peak on Ben Lamond. Breathe in the fresh alpine air when you walk or mountain bike the Queenstown Trail to nearby Arrowtown.
It’s not time to relax yet as there is still skiing to be done in the picturesque ski fields of Coronet Peak or The Remarkables and canyoning at Routeburn Canyon. Hang gliding, paragliding and abseiling are all here too!
Bring yourself back to ground level with a picnic lunch while enjoying the pristine wilderness that makes this city so eye-catching. If more intimate surrounds are your domain, then a string of high-class restaurants are available in the city centre.
Booking.com has massive variety of accommodation to choose from in Queenstown including hotels, apartments, lodges and B&Bs.
Huge variety of shopping & food available, excellent entertainment & tourist attractions, however roading infrastructure needs improving, traffic not free flowing & a lot of traffic jams causing big delays.
This was my second time in Queenstown. Actually didn't see much of the town this time. Was quite cold. Did the Milford Sound tour all day. Had gone in late summer previously (@March) and really enjoyed the city. So much to do and something for everyone. Beautiful town. Great food. Traffic is horrendous. Better to not drive. Last time used water taxi to get to our hotel. This time stayed in downtown. Preferred this.
I recommend to visit Queenstown if you really want to enjoy. If you are coming from Wellington try to come by ferry upto Picton. Then drive to Queenstown with a stay for night in between.(Christchurch) From Christchurch to Queenstown Via Tekapo Lake ( halt for 1 -2 hours. This lake is beautiful. After that what an amazing view upto Queenstown. Try to reach before night.
Walking along the lake's shore is very pretty, with great views of the mountains and hills. We enjoyed watching the para gliders, and the various boats on the lake. The gondola ride up the mountain was good and we enjoyed our lunch in the bar area overlooking the valley. Our helicopter ride over the snow capped mountains was amazing. The local buses were cheap and convenient, we took the bus to Arrowtown and to the airport (much less than a taxi). Prepaid bus cards are available at iSite information centre. Food seemed very expensive at all the restaurants which were quite crowded most of the time. Souvenirs were also expensive and mostly made in China. We chose to buy at local artist and makers galleries/stores. Next time we would chose a hotel/unit closer to the town centre to avoid the steep climb. Would also chose a unit with a kitchenette so we could prepare some meals. You need a car to reach the areas to see the bungy jumping and jet boats.
Queenstown is Absolutely a breath taking place. A must have distination for Overseas/ NZ tourists. Exciting and welcoming. Views of the Remarkables and the Lake is a Wow factor. I dont think you will be disappointed. The shopping is excellent. The cafes, bars and resturants are clean and the service is exceptional and friendly.
Incredible views! Easily the most scenic place in which I have stayed. Though a little spoiled by rapacious commercialism, and at times, tacky boosterism. Ski fields are modest in size, and a little chaotic.
Queenstown
The one bedroom apartment is one of the best accommodations we’ve used in Queenstown in many, many visits. It costs more than their standard hotel rooms but it’s well worth it for an extended visit. The apartment is huge, has full kitchen, laundry, two balconies, 2 toilets and aircon which is a must for hot summer days. Walking distance to everything and close to local buses for trips around the wider local area. If available, we would choose this apartment for our next visit.
Queenstown
Everything about our stay was perfect. The cottage was superb. We could not fault the facility and position. So cosy. Every convenience was catered for. We loved how close it was to Queenstown and the airport yet out of the congestion which is Queenstown central. Our hosts Daniela and Andre were wonderful, they provided a breakfast to rival any 5 star hotel but their pleasant, informative company sealed the deal. My favourite stay ever!
Queenstown
I would highly recommend this accommodation. Jude, the host is lovely and happy to help. The view from the apartment is amazing and the space for a family of 4 (including 2 adult children) is fantastic! The location is great as there is a walking path that runs along the lake and takes you into Queenstown. The apartment is well equipped and was very clean on arrival. I would definitely stay here again!
I love the fact that it is close to the town centre. It’a a bit of a challenge though because the location of the hotel is on a higher elevation but really good when you want to have an exercise. The staff is friendly and accommodating, too. This is one of the best stays we have in Queenstown! I just realized I forgot to take photos of the rooms as we were so exhausted from our flight!
We went to Queenstown to celebrate our daughters b'day and this was one of the best trips we had. Hotel is awesome. Surrounded by mountains and stream. Room is very clean. Enjoyed the quiet and comfy place after long drives. Recommended to everyone specially with family's with baby's. They'll love the sceneries and continues flights and helicopters.
Boutique hotel - fantastic friendly staff, nice breakfasts and evening canapés very relaxing. Large, comfortable, and well decorated Junior Suite with view to Remarkables and over the rugby field where tandem parachutes landed. Short walk to the Snowcentre, Restaurants, and shops in Queenstown. Fabulous stay for our 11 nights.
Only a short walk down the hill to the centre. The walk back up the hill is steep! Great view out over the lake from my room on the 3rd floor. Comfortable beds, clean room, great shower, friendly staff and decent sized gym facilities (I used the treadmill). Parking (free) was on side street or out front of the hotel.
Location near remarkable shopping centre ( includes countdown/ woolworths) and near public bus stop that allows access all around Queenstown. The rooms were clean and functional. We had a room with a kitchenette which was very handy. There is an on-site cafe and cafe/ restaurants in the strip of hotels.
Queenstown
The apartment is about 20mins walking distance to Queenstown Central via the botanical gardens. The apartment had all the house necessities with amazing views of the lake from the bedrooms. Internet was high speed which was helpful.
Our room was quiet and overlooked the inner courtyard, with the cherry trees in bloom it was quite lovely. The hotel is close to the park and very central for Queenstown with many places to eat within easy walking distance.
Nice to have a 4-5 star hotel in Queenstown that isn’t run down. Modern with a great location. One of the cheapest hotels which also included breakfast. Highly recommend.
The staff were very helpful and friendly I liked the location of the hotel, being very close to central queenstown. The price of accommodation was very reasonable.
Queenstown
I LOVED THE LOCATION...VERY CLOSE TO THE CENTRE OF QUEENSTOWN, THE VIEW IS AMAZING... I CAN JUST SIT IN THE LOUNGE OR BEDROOM AND ENJOY THE VIEW FOR THE WHOLE DAY.
Location was not bad, quick 15 mins drive to central queenstown. But hotel was brand new with friendly staff.
Queenstown
Located in roughly 10-15mins walking distance to town centre. Nice lake view apartment.
Walkable to Queenstown city centre. Free parking near the unit.
