Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Wyndham Costa del Sol Arequipa offers accommodations in Arequipa. This 5-star hotel is just a 15-minute walk from the city’s historic center. The room was amazing. Large and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the front lawn. There are multiple light switches so I could turn on the light by the desk and have the exact type of illumination I needed to do a bit of work in the evenings. The bathroom was spotless, the water pressure and temperatures were fantastic. But the best thing, by far, was the staff. From the lady who helped me over the phone before my arrival to the person at the desk on check-out, they made my stay simply fantastic.

Very recommended hotel! Location is great: in the historic centre with lots of nice bar and restaurant option around. All main sights are a short walk from the hotel. My friend was sick and the staff was very caring, helped calling a doctor who arrived after 10 minutes. One of the highlights were 2 huge turtles which are living in the hotel garden with lots of nice seating options. Breakfast was served on the roof top terrace with a view on the city. Endless blue sky and so many opportunities to walk around. Many things to see but also great for just hanging around and doing nothing apart from eating the great food. Dive into the history and enjoy a free guided tour!
A beautiful city with the most amazing sunshine - a fantastic getaway from Lima in the winter months. Staying in the Plaza de Armas means that most of the significant sights/attractions/restaurants are within walkig distance (although a taxi to Carmen Alto for views of the mountains is highly recommended). Altitude isn't too bad but certainly noticeable if you're a sea-level dweller. There is also ample opportunity to get out of the city for a horseback tour of the countryside (Cabalgatas Arequipa in Paucarpata put on an excellent service for me). There are also three excellent craft beer taprooms - Chelawasi, Melkim and my favourite Nowhere if you want to sample some exquisite beers.
This is a very beautiful city to just wander around, the main square is gorgeous and lunch at the restaurants on the terrace overlooking it are a must. I spent a morning wandering around Santa Catalina monastery, such a pretty and peaceful place. Go early to avoid the crowds and get it mostly to yourself. There is a good little coffee shop in there that sell delicious cake!
We came to Arequipa as a stopover for the Colca Canyon, but we were plesantly suprised by the Historical centre, which is absolutely fantastic. Lots to see (including a history museum where they keep Juanita, a well preserved Inca girl mummy), a large, typical local Peruvian market with food, fruits and lots of alpaca/lama stuff, some upscale shops with superb (but expensive) baby alpaca clothing and accessories, ATMs and restaurants everywhere. Not to mention the Plaza del Armas, with its imposing, shining cathedral. From the streets you can see the snowy volcanoes peaks on a nice day. Make sure to try the street-available clove&cinnamon icecream, delicious stuff. Outside this area, the city is mostly favela-like, with unfinished houses, poorly maintained streets and heavy traffic - we only went through it on our way to the airport.
Arequipa is a very special city. The people are so friendly.Even when traders try to sell you something and you decline, they wish you a nice day and a pleasant trip. Some travelers may have a problem with Arequipa's altitude, but you normally climatise after a short period
Such a lovely town! Arequipa felt like a breath of fresh air coming from places like La Paz, Puno, and Cusco (which all has their own charm of course). It is a mix of architecture, history (pre and post Incan), crafts, quaintness, majesty - with the three volcanoes surrounding the town in the distance with an amazing culinary scene I would have loved to spend a week enjoying. The food ranges from next level fusion to the wholly authentic. Great place to spend walking around all day admiring the old buildings, and duck into a museum or cathedral or church or monastery. I would definitely visit again when I have more time to take advantage of one of the day hikes or to the colca mountains excursion during the dryer season.
The hotel is a sparkling little boutique hotel in a very upscale, safe neighborhood, about 1 km from the Plaza de Armas, with carefully manicured landscaping , beautiful wood accents throughout, sufficient room size, and a new, firm, comfortable bed. All the staff was excellent, but Kelly and Kevin went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to make my stay pleasant. Every hotel should have employees like Kelly and Kevin! The breakfast was delicious too.
Wonderful place in one of the buildings of the main square of the city. The hotel is in colonial style, with attention to every detail, the rooms are large and very comfortable, the staff is friendly and always available. The terrace (where you can try the excellent and rich breakfast) alone is worth the stay: the best view of Arequipa. If you decide not to sleep in the hotel, it is mandatory at least one stop for an aperitif
Arequipa
This hostel has to be one of my favorite hostels in Peru! It has a wonderful lounge area with plenty of chairs. The breakfast buffet is adequate. Spacious rooms, lockers, movie night with free popcorn, luggage storage facilities, and more make this place awesome. In addition, Way Kap is located in the heart of the downtown so you are a few minutes walk from the main attractions. Stay here!
We also took advantage of the Spanish language classes offered as well as the Peruvian Cooking experience. Giovanna was an excellent teacher and gave us lots of practical tips for communicating on in various settings. Armando and his staff were so friendly and accommodating. We felt so welcome throughout our 5 night stay!
Arequipa
Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are awesome and the pool area invited to spend the whole day in one of the treehouses or the pool. I recommend everyone to check out this hostel who is in Arequipa. Beds are really comfortable and the staff is super helpful.
The staff is very helpful and kind. The free breakfast is very good. You get to choose from an actual menu. The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms look like they've been redone recently, very nice and clean. HOT HOT water. Amazing location.
The charm, location and the special room (bathtub in the room!) The terrace with nice view Friendly and flexible staff We decided to book this hotel for our birthday and We were very happy - although the price is at the high end in Arequipa...
The breakfast was good. Tables are situated outside in front of the room. The hotel is located just a few blocks away from Plaza de Armas and Santa Catalina. The perfect location for discovering the city of Arequipa.

It is a great retreat from the usual chaos of the city, surrounded by nature as an oasis in Arequipa. Great and friendly service. They recovered some lost and found for me.
Excellent breakfast with fantastic coffee. Beautiful balcony for breakfast, drinks, dinner. Superb location. Wonderful rain shower. Nice amenities, shampoo etc.
Everything about this hotel was good. I can’t find something wrong! Everything was excellent!!!
convenience of not having to take a taxi to main square.
