This was such an incredible experience and one of the highlights of our time in Peru. We learned not only about coffee, but also about Peruvian culture, traditions, and daily life. The eco-lodge is located in the La Convención region, where some of the best coffee in Peru is produced, and the setting itself was absolutely beautiful. Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything related to coffee. He took us through the coffee fields and explained the different growing and processing methods, as well as the different types of coffee. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was taking a collectivo to the nearby town of Quillabamba to roast the coffee ourselves. The meals prepared by the locals were delicious and completely different from what we are used to, which made the experience even more special. It was so interesting to try authentic local dishes and experience a different way of life. What we loved most was how genuine and off the beaten track everything felt. We got to see the daily lives of the local people, who were incredibly kind and always greeted us with a smile. It was such a warm, meaningful, and unforgettable experience. If you are coming to Peru and want to experience the “real” Peru while learning about coffee and cacao, you should absolutely visit this place. You will not regret it.

Eco Terra Lodge is a wonderful accommodation with an atmosphere of peace and harmony. The strengths of this place are the amazing natural surroundings, the beautiful rooms with huge windows through which you can see the dawn and a very cozy touch, the super tasty food cooked with great love and experience by the host. Last but not least, the guy who runs the facility is incredibly friendly and available, always smiling and ready to help you. The location is situated a few minutes from Santa Maria and it is a perfect starting point both for various activities organized by the lodge as well as for reaching Hydroelectrica by car/moto/taxi and then walk to Machu Picchu. From here it is also possible to walk a part of Inca Trail. We decided to extend our stay for an extra night since we found a piece of home here! Thanks for everything! Very recommended!
