Clean rooms with private bathrooms and comfy beds - every pilgrim's dream :) In the common area on the floor they have hot and cool water, coffee machine, microwave and tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful. On the ground floor there's a cafe that works from 7am. Also there's a great Chinese Restaurant nearby, highly recommended! Thanks, it was a great stay!

Because at the late and early hours of traveling from ALGARVE TO BARCELOS, the staff provide always a plate of food for the long hour of trabeling and work, in three situations which were even outside typical lunch ou dinner time, which was both exellent and very generous. Really felt at home.

It was amazing stay. The woman was so welcoming and kind, due to our flight we asked if it would be possible to check out a bit late and she allowed us with no issue. They also offer breakfast for 5 euros and the communication is mainly through WhatsApp 😇

Barcelos is a great city to spend a day or 2 while doing the Camino or traveling in Portugal. The architecture and ruins are not to be missed. The variety of restaurants and shops were fun to explore.

A Very nice small city, lots to see and many good dining and shopping opportunities. We were lucky to be there during a festival, which provided non-stop entertainment for our two -day stay. Our favorite place in Portugal so far. (We are not big city people, found Lisboa and Porto vexing - crowds, noise, traffic). Barcelos manages to be interesting and charming without the negatives. Of course, some day it will over-populate and be as obnoxious as the other big cities.

Barcelos is one of many stunning towns and cities in...

Barcelos is one of many stunning towns and cities in Portugal, but by far my favorite. It is small enough to walk around, has some excellent old buildings, bridges, etc. Cafes, restaurants all provide excellent service, and the market on Thursdays is awesome to see.

This town is a car crash! - despite Unesco city of creativity. 1-2 hours plenty to look around the last remaining intact bits of town, apart from visiting on a Thursday when supposedly there is a market going on. So many other places to see in the area! Why waste your time?

We were there for Dance World Cup finals in Braga so didn't see a lot of Barcelos but surrounding areas very beautiful. Lots of stunning countryside covered in vineyards. Definitely would go back to explore more!

The city is beautiful and with a lot of monuments and churches to visit. It also had some pretty interesting shops in a central shopping area and some interesting looking restaurants. From traditional to hipster food- you can find everything there. The day I visited, the city had a huge market in the center, street food and entertainment. There were some traditional music concerts, traditional dancing, flower and light decorations all over... Very pretty. I was positively surprised by the mixture of historical and city-like vibes.

Our room was great with a close-up view across the bridge/river. There were lots of nice little touches around the room, including an amazing bedhead (see pic). Tea/coffee was available 24/7 which is unusual in Portuguese hotels - with the facilities close to our downstairs room. Breakfast was also very good and was served in a delightful room.

We had an amazing stay here! The hotel was absolutely spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable after a long day of walking. The location is perfect. The breakfast was great at the Historical Caff next door as was our meal at the Babbett Restaurant both recommendations which we loved. Would definitely stay here again!

Brand new hotel - moden and awith good facilities. Still a bit dusty when we entered but I'm sure that is sorted by now. Nice reception however the check in process was so slow - not sure why as we had already paid via booking.com.

The hotel is situated directly across the road from the trainstation at Barcelos. I was here just to watch a match at Gil Vicente. The staff member was excellent. He booked me a taxi to and from the game as time was tight.
