It was the best stay in our Portugal holidays. Attention to details is just magical here. Perfect match of Portugal history and new age quality. It exceeded our expectations. Room was spacious with amazing views from the balkony. All hotel feel like home away from home with attentive staff and designed details all over the property. We loved breakfast and dinners there as well. Pools are just amazing. We were happy to dive in the relaxing few days at this villa.

I wasn't intending to stay in a hotel, but by the time I booked this was the only place available. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful, and in the end I didn't mind pampering myself with a great room after a couple of long days on the road. And a pretty decent buffet breakfast to get me moving the next day!

Casa do Theatro Guest House was absolutely beautiful. What a pleasure to treat myself to a nice stopover during my Camino. It was amazing stay. The woman was so welcoming and kind, due to our flight we asked if it would be possible to check out a bit late and she allowed us with no issue. They also offer breakfast for 5 euros and the communication is mainly through WhatsApp 😇

Barcelos is a great city to spend a day or 2 while doing the Camino or traveling in Portugal. The architecture and ruins are not to be missed. The variety of restaurants and shops were fun to explore.

A Very nice small city, lots to see and many good dining and shopping opportunities. We were lucky to be there during a festival, which provided non-stop entertainment for our two -day stay. Our favorite place in Portugal so far. (We are not big city people, found Lisboa and Porto vexing - crowds, noise, traffic). Barcelos manages to be interesting and charming without the negatives. Of course, some day it will over-populate and be as obnoxious as the other big cities.

Barcelos is one of many stunning towns and cities in...

Barcelos is one of many stunning towns and cities in Portugal, but by far my favorite. It is small enough to walk around, has some excellent old buildings, bridges, etc. Cafes, restaurants all provide excellent service, and the market on Thursdays is awesome to see.

This town is a car crash! - despite Unesco city of creativity. 1-2 hours plenty to look around the last remaining intact bits of town, apart from visiting on a Thursday when supposedly there is a market going on. So many other places to see in the area! Why waste your time?

We were there for Dance World Cup finals in Braga so didn't see a lot of Barcelos but surrounding areas very beautiful. Lots of stunning countryside covered in vineyards. Definitely would go back to explore more!

The city is beautiful and with a lot of monuments and churches to visit. It also had some pretty interesting shops in a central shopping area and some interesting looking restaurants. From traditional to hipster food- you can find everything there. The day I visited, the city had a huge market in the center, street food and entertainment. There were some traditional music concerts, traditional dancing, flower and light decorations all over... Very pretty. I was positively surprised by the mixture of historical and city-like vibes.
