A luxurious 5-star design hotel sitting on Calheta Beach, between Madeira Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, Savoy Saccharum Resort & Spa features a rooftop infinity pool and conference rooms. It was one of the best hotels in my life. It was totally amazing hotel, location and decorations to the staff 10/10
Located in Calheta in the Madeira region, O Meu Sonho has a garden. The property is 6 miles from Ponta do Sol, and complimentary private parking is available. We loved our stay in this apartment. The location was perfect, 5 minutes by car to a big supermarket. The house is big and beautiful, especially garden. And that view! The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful! She provided us with many tips and recommendations! We would definitely stay there again
Fazendinha House is located in Calheta and offers a garden and barbecue facilities. This is a fab place! There is so much to talk about it including the fantastic views to the sea and the neighbourhood. The modern aesthetic furniture brightens up the place and the beds are very comfortable to sleep in, the owners are one of the nicest people i've met and this house has gave me such a great impression of the lovely island of madeira. Would reccomend to anyone wanting to stay somewhere comfortable and wanting to have a BBQ as the garden also lightens up the house.
Located in Calheta in the Madeira region, Madeira Inn Casa da Paz has a balcony and sea views. The property is 8 miles from Ponta do Sol, and complimentary private parking is offered. The house is cosy and warm, there is a fantastic view from the garden, it was a really nice stay! We would have loved to stay longer!
Located in Calheta in the Madeira region, Villa Neto has a garden. The property is 5 miles from Ponta do Sol. The hosts were extremely helpful and generous. They took us out drinking and singing one night, which was awesome. The couch and the television were very relaxing. If you like playing pool, like one of my daughters and I, it was fun. Well stocked pantry.
Located in Calheta, Rochão Village provides a terrace and free WiFi. The property has an indoor pool, a garden and rooms with sea views. A very smart village that has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully maintained. Very clean. Great location with lovely views. Indoor swimming pool was a bonus. Everything we needed was provided and a very nice welcome hamper too. Pleased to be contacted before we arrived and sent a map. Also given a chance for any questions before travelling. Really comfortable bedding. Great shower. Very peaceful. Good supermarket in Loreto and lovely restaurant just a few hundred yards down the road. Office on site. Really liked Loreto.
Overall hotel was nice and clean with beautiful views. Decent buffet breakfast. Staff at breakfast could’ve been nicer though, and the showers could have more privacy - they are all glass open to main room. Better lighting in rooms would also be appreciated.
A relaxing base for people to view the Island with a car or to take part in the many trips on offer. If you can't stand the smell of tobacco you need to give this particular hotel a miss which is a shame because otherwise it was fine.
The Savoy at Calcutta is an all inclusive hotel with it's own beach. There are very few beaches on the island of Madeira because so much of its shore line is straight up and down so if you want a beach, the Savoy on the Beach is the place for you. All of the ocean facing rooms, at least above the 2nd floor, have great views. The Savoy is located about a half hour from the main city of Funchal. Plan on renting a car in order to see the island and get around quickly. The hotel has a shuttle service to Funchal but it is expensive so the car rental makes financial sense. Of course, if you don't like driving on narrow mountain roads, let someone else do the driving but go see as much of the rest of the island as you have time for. It is spectacular! The food at the Savoy is very good, especially for an all inclusive hotel package. But find a favorite place in Funchal, too. There are lots of vey good restaurants. Madeira is a hiker's paradise for those with good legs - plenty of ups and downs.
The rooms and the a la carte restaurant was very good. The design of the hotel is beautiful. The swimming pools we too cold, nobody was swimming, that was a big shame. The roof top snack bar was not great. Essentials like schampoo and soap missing in the spa.
Quite little village in the south west part of Madeira. One hour from the Airport. Not much to do except relax and sun-bedding, you really need a car to go around the island. The hotel is new and very well designed and very comfortable.
There really isn't much here, was glad we booked a car it is definitely needed. Town seems to be dying, think both hotels do Half board or all inclusive offers so hard for local bars and restaurants to survive.
We were very impressed with the quality of catering ( breakfast and dinner) and how friendly and helpful the staff was. The room was not too modern but was spacious and clean with two balconies and amazing view out to the sea. The area was also not busy so there was plenty of privacy. The hotel is also close to the amazing trails that are far from other busier routes. The hotel also provides car hire services at a good price, which was essential as the local bus transport takes too long to travel everywhere that we wanted to go.
Paradise house Calheta was really good choice to stay on Madeira Island. The hosts were very nice and asked about what needs to be done, what we lack, etc. They also give us a bottle of Portuguese wine. The house is very spacious, clean, equipped, has a large garage, which is appreciated by people with a rented car. The terraces are spacious, with a grill and a parasol. The sea view is amazing and I also highly recommend a location where it was very sunny even elsewhere on the island was overcast. I highly recommend.
Very nice hotel, good atmosphere. Good Breakfast, nice view, romantic garden. A perfect place to visit as a couple. I was travelling alone. Would recommend to visit this place together, or for honeymoon. Please note that there are 2 locations; 1 is the hotel, te other place are the cottages. I went to the wrong place, but when I called the hotel, they picked me up; that's hospitality!! If you don't want to go out for dinner; you van have dinner in the hotel.
The Villa is conveniently located next to the Calheta beach, supermarket and nice places to explore the local cuisine. The apartment is really clean and well-maintained. Check in and check out didn't take much time. Teresa is a very friendly host who welcomed us with a fruit platter, gave us nice advice on things-to-do around, arranged boat tour and was always reachable via phone. We will definitely come back!
Nice house with plenty of bedrooms. Well equipped i.e. with fireplace, washing machine, coffee machines, comfy sofa. The pool is well maintained and heated (fee). Quite close to Calheta sand beach and supermarket or restaurant, but it is a steep path most of the times we were driving there. The host is a great guy, communication was perfect and welcome gift was nice too. We really enjoyed our stay
The view from the appartment across the valley and towards the sea. The location made it easy to explore the island of Madeira. The rural surroundings enabled us to enjoy the flora and landscape. Possible to walk to Calheta and local villages. We also found some excellent local restaurants.
Everything! Having seen hundreds hotels, this is one of a kind! Loved it. Beautiful design. Fantastic facilities! Beautiful room, great and friendly service. Excellent breakfast with infinite choice. We made use of the spa, which was also excellent! A place to remember. A place to go back
This is a nice house which is located near the beach. It is pretty big and very comfortable. The owner is very pleasant and quickly solve any problem. Best situated of all apartments in Calheta. There is a parking place outside the house.
The staff is great and always helpful and friendly The hotel is clean There is a supermarket and and pharmacy in front of the hotel Location is great as well with sand beaches sand and not windy. Animations every evening
The pool and outside area were awesome - the kids loved it. The size and quality of the rooms in the main house. Good supermarket within walking distance and a range of restaurants a short drive away down in Calheta.
Very warm welcome, fresh fruit and vegetables to pick, good beds and privacy in a magical place! You will this peaceful quiet area 15 minutes drive up a mountain from Calheta.
Perfect location to discover western half of Madeira (and middle). Hostess collected us at 23:40 at an easy to find petrol station. Great advies and support.
We had a well thought out, comfortable accommodation as we expected. I would like to emphasize the host who was exactly what a host should be. We got a lot of useful tips and help, but it was not intrusive at all. It is obvious that they welcome the guests and that they love the place they live in. Thanks for everything Madeira is a wonderful place.
A very welcoming reception by the host on a beautiful location overlooking the ocean and a good place to start your hike along the levada, we felt on holiday the moment we arrived at Casa dos Reis. The place feels historic but is very comfortable at the same time.
The apartment is well furnished with all you need (and more!), spacious and clean. It is well located to explore the island. We enjoyed the swimming pool too. Elisabete is very nice and friendly. We definitely recommand this place!
