I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming, owner-run guesthouse right on the beachfront and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and genuine hospitality of the owner, António, made me feel instantly at home. The location is simply unbeatable; stepping directly from the front door onto the boardwalk and having the sound of the waves lull me to sleep was a dream come true. My room was exactly as in the photo's advertised, immaculately clean, thoughtfully decorated and very modern, and offered a breathtaking ocean view. What sets this guesthouse apart is the personal touch: the owner's attentiveness, the local recommendations tailored to my interests, and the sheer dedication to ensuring every guest has a perfect stay. It’s a peaceful, welcoming retreat that perfectly captures the magic of a beachfront getaway. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

I visited this beach for four days over Easter and had a wonderful experience. The beach was cleaned every morning and felt lively throughout the day without ever being overcrowded. There’s a great selection of traditional restaurants and cafés along the beachfront, making it an ideal spot to spend the day with family. A well‑managed promenade runs from one end to the other, perfect for a relaxing walk. Parking was also easy, which made getting around completely stress‑free

The walk along the beach and the boardwalks close to the town are great. If you do not have a car, then train station is close by. It's a small beachside town and loved the chilled and relaxed vibe of Espinho

Espinho was a great town with lovely restaurants and bars. The person at the train station was particularly helpful as we went to Porto and Avira on day trips. So easy to travel. The town was beautifully lit up.

Espinho is about 40 mins taxi from airport.

Espinho is about 40 mins taxi from airport. It’s a Lovely quiet coastal city. Beautiful beaches and boardwalks for miles. Lovely restaurants in Espinho. Everything is easy to access- train to Porto very regular and so cheap also. Only takes about 30 mins.

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach.

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach. It's a very relaxed town, not very touristy. It's less than 30 minutes away from central Porto (by Uber) - and Uber is not too expensive (about €10). Espinho has a market every Monday. We checked it out, and I was blown away by how huge it is. They sell absolutely everything - from clothes to thousands of shoes, to household items, to food, and (unfortunately) live animals. But the level of English is pretty low, so practice your Portuguese, and bring cash. Then relax at the beach bar at the end of the day to watch the sunset - with a cold Super Bock, of course.

This was my second stay at the surfhouse, and I came back after an event nearby with a few extra days to spare. Espinho is such a calm little town, just the right mix of relaxed local life, shops, markets and other things to do, and of course the beach and waves. They offer daily surf lessons for all levels, with good equipment and very fair prices. The surfhouse has such a great vibe; the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and it always seems to attract the nicest mix of travellers. Thank you again - I hope to be back!

Botica’s location in Espinho is perfect: right on the city center, just a short walk from the train station, the beach and various restaurants. Our room was spacious, very well equipped and perfectly clean. Elizabeth is a great host: she is welcoming, joked around with our little son and even made it possible for us the check on really early (without any extra costs). We had a great time in Botica and would definitely come back if we returned to the area.

The hotel was lovely and staff very nice considering blackout. They were able to get the kitchen to make us sandwiches as we couldn’t pay with our card anywhere and we had two little children. It’s just unfortunate that we were on the seventh floor with no lift :)

It was right next to the train station which very handy to get around. It was central for restaurants. The reception staff were really welcoming and helpful. Its a good budget hotel.
