This was a wonderful pairing with our wine tour of Aveleda winery. The staff were amazing, the gentlemen at the reception was welcoming and also recommended a local place to eat called Suzanna ; a true traditional experience. Everything is sparkling new ; the eminities, the bathrobes the bedding, absolute delight. The grounds are manicured, the pool which is pearched on the land is an absolutel delight and well worth the price. The breakfast was delicious and just exceeded expectations. We are so grateful of the discovery and certainly recommend the wonderful, historical location, that of a family gem restored and so welcoming.

The owner is such a kind lady, very helpful. Large room and bathroom. Lovely small swimming pool. Ideally a place for road trips, in the countryside nearby Porto, but also not far from Braga, Giuimaraes,Douro valley.

A truly luxurious villa with a warm, spotless pool and plenty of sun loungers. The garden is beautifully maintained, and the entire property feels elegant and thoughtfully designed. The villa itself is spacious, tastefully furnished, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We loved the sense of privacy — the property is fully enclosed and feels very peaceful. There’s also a billiards table and a large, fully equipped kitchen available for guests. Breakfast was a highlight: everything was fresh and local — including eggs from the villa’s own chickens. It was genuinely delicious. The setting is calm, surrounded by the sounds of nature and animals. Although the villa is located a bit outside of Porto, it’s easy and quick to reach the city by car.

It was a charming experience of really great hospitality of the whole Family hosting us at their Family Castle, The Owners were very helpful, responsive and understanding in every aspect we asked them for some help and assistance which was far above accommodation reservation. The Castle has its own story, it is designed and made with lots of care and passion to details so you could really feel like royals in medieval times having access to XXI century amenities. We really felt like gusts (Kings) at home castle of our close Family who was taking care for us all the time. Definitely it's a great and interesting option for motirized travellers visiting Porto and its surroundings. We were served an unbelievebly nice, very varied and tasty breakfast with a wide selection of many local or homemade food which made our day. Vilela City is not looking like a tourist attraction but except Castelo de Portugraal it has really some hidden pearls like some local restaurants where you could experience Portugees cuisine and tastes with the spirit. Carla is also offering home-cooked dinners and definitely next time we are going to use that option. We recommend it to all !!!
