The 9.9 reviews score that this place has... now I know why!!! Except for the fact that the place is absolutely dreamy, the owner, Mrs. Ramona was also kind beyond expectations! We stayed, unfortunately, only one night. I will tell you just this: because my daughters, as usual, spend a lot of time under the shower, there was no hot water left for me!! I informed Mrs. Ramona, and after a while (at midnight!!) she was sending me a message wondering if I'm ok, if water got hot, and if I managed to get my shower! I mean, who does that nowadays?? Thank you for everything! ❤️

We have hardly been in nicer accommodation. If you have the possibility, choose a room in the attic. It is beautiful. It was very warm, we even opened the windows at one point to cool off a bit. We went in November. Every detail in the room is thought out. The staff is super friendly. The villa is part of a complex, which is beautiful for walking and relaxing. Great recommendation. We will definitely be back.

The owners, Maria and her husband, are lovely people who did everything to make us feel comfortable and immediately solve any issue or request. The place is quiet and has a unique charm. Avrig in itself is not so great, probably the Bruckental...

Avrig in itself is not so great, probably the Bruckental summer palace is the best place in it. But the surroundings are beautiful, and there are plenty of activities and places to visit around (Avrig Valley, Sambata de Sus, Carta..) especially if you include Sibiu city which is really nearby (but then again you can also decide to rather stay in the city itself).

Avrig is a small rural town with a couple of places of...

Avrig is a small rural town with a couple of places of historical interest such as Palatul brukenthal (gardens, small farm, play ground and good restaurant, you have to try the homemade lemonade and nettle soup)and an old church with beautiful outdoor frescos. Although some buildings are reminiscent of typical eastern block times the architecture of the houses and their allotments etc are interesting for their contrasting styles and colours. The local train station is a bit run down but we found the roosters and chickens roaming around the platform charming. It’s a good base for travelling to other cultural towns such as Fagaras and Brasov.The train into the city of Sibiu takes about an hour and only costs 2 euro return. A few options available for eating out in the area but be aware they all close by 10 o’clock. There is a couple of small supermarkets including Lidl and a bakery. There are Romany gypsys in the area but they don’t beg and seeing them in their traditional dress travelling on horse and carts is part of the culture of the area.

It is a small location, with not much to do.

It is a small location, with not much to do. But very quiet, relaxing and away form the business of the big cities (like Sibiu) if this is what you are looking for. Accommodation at Brukenthal Palace was awesome.

My family had a great time during our stay. The house was beautifully decorated in a traditional manner but with all amenities and comfort of a modern hotel. It was situated in the center of the town, right across the street from the Brukenthal Palace, shops, etc. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the host was very polite and welcoming. We will most definitely choose the same place on our next stay.

Avrig is a nice central place to visit nice places on short driving distance like Sibiu, Transfagarasan, Sighisoara, Bran and Braşov. After that, or during the day you can relax at the pool. The people working at Aqua Club Elatis were very friendly and eager to help and serve everyone in the best possible way. Unfortunately they were understaffed which led sometimes to long waiting times.
