I had the best stay at Penzion Kaps while travelling within Slovenia. The property is perfectly located as it’s close to the lake as well as the city center. While checking in I was very well attended at the desk and was guided about all the activities in and around Bled. The room also had an apple juice and some chocolates which were a very kind gesture in my opinion. All the major attractions are easily accessible either by the bus or by walk. The breakfast was amazing and they had a lot of vegetarian options too.

Loved everything about it! The peaceful location (the opposite side of the hustle and bustle in the centre of Bled), the staff, the restaurant (Michelin 2025), the history, wall decorations, furniture, atmosphere, etc. and the magnificent view through the window to the snowy mountains and to the church island of an upgraded room!

Dorucak perfektan!!!

The room is spacious and romantic, and the view of our terrace was truly stunning, even though it was rainy. We could enjoy the breakfast in our room with a nice view of the lake too. We also did the pop up dinner which was great. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Location is convenient.

FAQs about hotels in Bled

A Fairytale Place

Surrounded by green Alpine mountains, the Slovenian island of Bled is like a piece of paradise in the middle of a picturesque lake. Home to the romantic Bled Castle, this popular tourist town will amaze you with its idyllic landscape and outdoor activities.

Overlooking the Julian Alps, the iconic Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church was built on the ruins of a temple dedicated to the Slavic goddess of love, Zina. The island is reachable by a traditional boat called Pletna and is a dreamy place for a wedding. According to the custom, the groom has to silently carry his wife up to the steps of the charming island.

Created at the end of the Ice Age by the Bohinj glacier, the picture-perfect Bled Lake is ideal for activities like fishing, rowing and canoeing. Nature lovers should not miss Iglica Waterfall, a natural miracle on the Suha stream.

Known for its spa facilities, the town of Bled is about 35 km from Triglav National Park and 30 km from the international airport of Ljubljana, Brnik Airport. Check the Booking.com deals and choose the right hotel, guest house or apartment.

Very touristy but so worth the visit

Very touristy but so worth the visit Stunning location and so much to do We chose to swim in the lake and e-bike round the lake an hour a few of the surrounding hills - gorgeous scenery! Trip to Vintgar gorge was great (again touristy but worth it) Trip to Bohinj lake, Savica waterfall and Vogel cable car also great to do in a day if you have a car.

Lake Bled was truly a breathtaking location.

Lake Bled was truly a breathtaking location. A walk around the lake and you'll struggle to believe it's a real place. The church/"island" in the middle is the only island in Slovenia. It's really cool, don't get me wrong, but it isn't the most magnificent piece of Bled. It's worth visiting to tick it off the list and the boat ride there is quite enjoyable (it takes around 30 mins). The hike up to the castle is also quite steep and probably takes 20-30 mins depending on how fit you are. There are a lot of steps to get there. But once you do, the views there out to the Lake are incredible so it's well worth the visit up for the pictures alone. The Vintgar hiking trip is also really enjoyable and you can go at your own pace. A word of caution, it is quite long and you can't just "turn back". You need to prepare with ample amount of water and appropriate walking shoes. There are stops along the way (e.g. toilet and a few shops) but you need to get through quite a bit of walking to arrive there. I didn't visit the small rollercoaster / ride thing but I've been told it's a minimum of 1 hour wait at peak times.

Bled was like stepping into a fairytale and I will 100% be...

Bled was like stepping into a fairytale and I will 100% be planning a return trip. We did the tobogganing which was a long wait (we went during peak season so not unsurprised at this), the circular walk around the lake (with some stops at the swimming spots on the way) plus hiking up to the view points. The walk around the lake is super easy as all flat and lots of people were on bikes. We didn't have time to rent paddle boards and get on the lake but will deffo do that on our return trip. We visited vintgar gorge which is an absolute must. There is a free shuttle bus from the bled bus station to the entrance and then a downhill walk back into Bled- super easy and stunning views! We did some guided activities including horseback riding tour through some of the Julian Alps, and a national park day trip stopping at several key landmarks in Slovenia. But Bled was gorgeous and the highlight of our trip. Lovely local food (and lovely local people!), everything within walking distance. Only thing to note is that in Slovenia you cannot split bills, I travelled with my best friend and when we asked to pay half each for our dinner bills, it isn't a thing there. Wasn't a problem but just a heads up especially if you are travelling in a group- one person has to pay and you are expected to sort it out separately!

Lake Bled is exquisite.

Lake Bled is exquisite. For people who like lake swimming it is as divine as can be - clean, silky water and a constantly changing array of shades of azure, turquoise, green, blue. The town is charming and the walk out away from the lake are stunning.

It might have been the day we were at bled but i found it overwhelmingly busy and loud around the lake. The car road is right beside the water and was very busy the whole day which made it not peaceful for me. Glad i did not stay longer. Its also somewhat pricey to eat around bled and most were packed. I came mostly to swim and relax before hiking triglav.

Lake Bled is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. The town offers a wide range of restaurants and bars, with delicious dishes and the famous Bled cream-cake. During high season it can get a bit crowdy but it is still charming.

The room was wonderful, and the staff were lovely and friendly throughout my stay. The breakfast and the view from the restaurant were particularly wonderful - beautiful view of Lake Bled, with the hotel being located on the top of the hill, with an unlimited breakfast, featuring wonderful Slovenian delicacies and beverages. Also very close to the train station (3-4 minute walk) with an easy flat walk. Would recommend everyone to stay here!

Quirky hotel in stunning location - an oasis in Bled which can get very busy with tourists. Staying here felt like a privilege. Staff were kind and helpful, we loved it. The private bathing deck down at the lake was especially beautiful and appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Dinner was a highlight of our trip to Slovenia

Excellent location, it's about 20min walk from the Town of Bled but it's nice because it's quite and less people. It also means to can enjoy an evening walk back by the lake. The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was great, all you could need. We would definitely come back.
