I Travelled to Koper for Business for a 4th time but first time at The Grand Hotel.
I also had a guest staying for the latter part of my stay.
The Hotel is very 'Grand' having all the esteem of a small palace. From walking in the door, to getting to your room the gravitas of your choice of stay is a nice feeling.
The room I stayed in had a great flat screen to connect my phone to and the WIFI was accessible anywhere in the hotel, not once did it buffer on youtube.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and abundant with freshly made eggs on request. A great start to the day. I also had the privilege of Valet parking, this definitely made coming and going a seamless event.
The evening restaurant with a discount from your stay will be a pleasant surprise to have onsite fine dining akin to a luxury city centre Michelin star foodery. Excellent service, excellent presentation, and delectable taste for a reasonable price.
The Hotel is situated front and centre to the whole sea front allowing you to walk to nearly any attraction of Koper.
Lastly the staff. The staff were at every moment, genuine, friendly, eager to help, well presented and a fine cherry on top of the ornate pastry package that is the Grand Hotel.
The front of house team and breakfast service members were especially friendly giving a relaxed feel to every morning and request.
Would and will 100% stay again!

Everything was great... including room and breakfast and specially proximity to the city center... We loved the idea to be out of noise, but close to the old town and close to the city and peer and all activities going on...

Highly recommend! Our room was spacious and clean with a very good bathroom, kitchenette, fridge, and air conditioning. The hostel is very well situated, being close to the old town, sea, and shops. The staff were amiable and extremely helpful. We took the option to pay for a parking space located near to the hostel which was convenient and reasonably priced. A great advantage of the hostel is that it attached to a local restaurant, Bistro Villa Domus which offers an excellent breakfast for guests (available at small additional cost) and a very good and affordable option for lunch.
Located right in the centre of Koper, 150 metres from a pebbly and stone-paved beach, Hostel Museum offers a garden with a terrace and free-to-use barbecue facilities.

Clean well equipped apartment on the outskirts of Koper. Nice courtyard to sit in and the old town of Koper is well worth a visit. It's a 30 minute walk down to Koper old town, mostly along the sea front. Just be aware if you are not used to walking it's a steep walk back up the final hill.

I liked the old town of Koper- interesting and some nice little places to eat. I wouldn't swim there though- very industrial and the sea appears quite polluted. If you are interested in snorkelling or swimming I would head down the coast further to the islands off Croatia. For more history, the bays in Italy like San Rocco outside of Trieste. I didn't like Piran at all- a pretty town but just a tourist disneyland

Koper is nice historical seaside city.
Koper is nice historical seaside city. There si also possibility to travel within 20km to other also nice historical cities Isola, Piran and Portoroz. There are nice beaches especially in Portoroz and Piran which I could recommend. Also there are Realy nice caves close to the Koper which you can visit Skocjan or Postojna jama.

Koper is the largest city on the Slovenian section of the Mediterranean.
You can tell that the city is very modern for its circumstances (outside the old town).
There are plenty of shopping opportunities for absolutely acceptable prices.
The town and the beach areas are very clean.
The town is mainly frequented by Slovenians from within the country. There are very few foreign tourists here.
The fish specialties offered by the various local restaurants are particularly recommended.

This is a wonderful city to stay in, both interesting and comfortable. It is also a convenient starting point for traveling around Istria, to Postojna Cave, Ljubljana, and Trieste.I visited Piran and Izola, but I liked Koper the most. Incredible food and drinks at the Bosnian restaurant Baštašija. All locations are within easy walking distance, but if you have luggage or the weather is bad, there is comfortable transport available throughout the city. I would like to avoid the sea bloom, and I don't understand why it isn't cleaned.

Koper is not as touristy as other towns on the Slovenian coast and that's exactly what we liked about it. It's not as crowded, yet the old town is just as beautiful as Piran or Izola. Because Koper is one of the biggest cities in Slovenia, there are a lot of shops and services, too. Koper is also more car-friendly compared to Piran, so it's more convenient for those travelling by car. Lastly, it's also the cheapest destination on the Slovenian coast.

A very charming town with a beautiful and warm atmosphere.
A very charming town with a beautiful and warm atmosphere. Great access to the sea and to the beaches in the area, and solid restaurant options that are not far too expensive!
The beaches are rocky, not sandy (other than the city beach)

Owner was the best- well prepared with great attitude I suggest asking him for tips or suggestions what places to visit, He knows everything about the citites surrounding the Koper city as well he suggests restaurants etc. I think this is the best supporter for the trip I ever known. When it comes to room - really nice and tidy with set of appliances(fridge,tv,wifi, coffe machine, clima, it is not easy to say how many things which help in the trip were there.
Kitchen equipment was good, you will find everything you need (coffee machine, dishes, microwave,..) Large terrace with grill. Very good location, close to the center and near supermarkets, bank and public bus to žusterna and portorož
Tip for breakfast : Angel food - best pancakes!!
