Even thou Phitsanulok may seem or look like an old primitive town, it is great small city. Phitsanulok has great foods, great street foods and markets. Phitsanulok is famous and big for it's Temple's. Phitsanulok has some of the most precious and oldest temples in Thailand. The people in Phitsanulok are great, very kind, respectful and friendly, are never rude or aggressive. There are thousands and thousand's of motorcycle's and scooter's on the road but they all respect the road and every driver on the road, and all drivers respect them back. The Temple's are beautiful and amazing and a MUST see/visit. There are also big markets at the main Temple's and are open every day, and you can buy so many clothes, things and souvenirs for a very reasonable price. Everything is so much cheaper compare to Bangkok. The food in Phitsanulok is cheap and really good. Every week during night time there are huge street markets and street foodz which occur two or three times a week. There are so many verities of foods and some great tasty foods which are very cheap. You can find and buy anything in Phitsanulok. You must get a car or scooter to move around Phitsanulok as it is a pretty big town, or just catch Grab. Phitsanulok also has a major shopping center, many hardware stores and retail shops. There are many great cafes and restaurants in Phitsanulok, but you have to search and find them. Phitsanulok is also close to a very famous historical place called SUKHOTHAI, which is a place you must visit to understand the history of Thailand. Phitsanulok also has an Airport so it is easy to get to from Bangkok.

Not a tourist town.

Not a tourist town. Temples and local history are very interesting. Folk art museum was the highlight for us. Unfortunately we didn’t get to nearby Sukhothai historical park which was highly recommended by our host.

There really isn't much there to see as a tourist.

There really isn't much there to see as a tourist. The city is not pretty or anything special. We were at Sukhothai and decided to travel here to extend our mini vacation. I would not recommend it for a visit. The only highlight for me was the SGT MAJ Folk Museum. This is a must see, if you are ever in the city.

Good transport links plane, train and coach. Not really a tourist oriented city but good cafes and excellent shopping. Was perfect as a base for exploring the region. Hire cars available from the airport and cheap taxis using Bolt App.

Phitsanulok is really off the beaten tourist track and...

Phitsanulok is really off the beaten tourist track and therefore unsuitable for those for the first time in Thailand. There are two main, good attractions, being Chan Royal Palace ruins and Sgt. Maj. Thawee's folk Museum. Good for one day in total. Phitsanulok therefore is a perfect example why forced spreading of (mass) tourism will not ever work, it lacks too much of what the general tourist would appeal (enough attractions, lively entertainment, quality accommodation and good (public) transport).

Phitsnaulok a small city in north central Thailand which...

Phitsnaulok a small city in north central Thailand which once was the capital for a short period. The hotel I stay in was with in walking distance ie 20 minutes of the main historical sites. To go to the main night market is a very short tax ride and the same for a very famous folk museum.

Located within the city and five minutes from the Phitsanulok station. The hotel has amazing restaurant within the basement level - 'SpeakEasy', including Thai and European cuisines. Had dinner here almost everyday of the stay. The hotel provides internal access to Topland Plaza - shopping mall and this is a great place to shop with good quality items, not as huge like Central Plaza though. Safe location and easy access. Room service was good. The hotel has conference facility and many levels of parking.

The breakfast was sensational as was the service - could not fault. The rooms were lovely, the hotel is in an excellent location. We made good use of the bicycles to cycle around town and in addition the shuttle back to the station. Ate at the Amore restaurant and once again the choice and quality of meals was superb as well as the service absolutely brilliant! Loved the swimming pool too - cannot fault this gorgeous hotel.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated to the warmest welcome we’ve ever received. The staff and manager are a credit to this wonderful hotel. The hotel is also a museum and the manager very kindly gave us a tour, explaining all about Thai history and craftsmanship. We stayed for 9 nights and could’ve stayed forever, it really is a special place.

Very nice hotel and room with excellent location being adjacent to the 2 main temples and river in Phitsanulok. Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent breakfast buffet included. Very big and comfortable bed. Water, Pepsi and potato chips complimentary from the minibar. We would definitely return.
