This was really a special stay. The owners made us feel like a family, they treated us and cared for us, helped us with transportation, scooter rental. We were here just when earthquake happened and due to their help we felt 100% safe, they also moved us to little house on the ground to feel safer. They prepared delicious, taiwanese breakfast and amazing coffee! We felt like a part of family. It special experience to stay here and we liked the rural area of Shoufeng. Hidden gem!

the management was there waiting for us when we arrived, was very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay very pleasant: they took us to our room, they welcomed us in the dining room with a warm welcome speech, the food was delicious specially the duck was amazing, there was a soprano singer of very high level which gave a wonderful atmosphere during dinner, there was also a scientist on the roof top to give explanation about the stars and the telescope,... I think I can say we have never been welcomed so warmly in a hotel

We stayed at the Hledu hotel in winter (off-season) and it was very quiet, we were the only guests in the whole hotel! The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The owner was awesome, he drove us to dinner at 055 Seafood Restaurant in his van and then later in the night drove us up the mountain to see a nice lookout point. He also cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning. His hospitality was the highlight of our stay. He also let us park our electric bikes in a locked basement room overnight and recharge the batteries. So it's a good stop if cycling down the coast.

Great view of the morning sun rise over the mountain peak. Relatively clean bed and big room. It's just opposite a 7-eleven, and also the bus stop if you're coming from Hualien station. Lift was useful and the owner was nice to lend me their private washing machine to do laundry. The owner doesn't speak English but it was no problem with translation apps.
