Located in a quiet area of Dongwe, perfect for peace and tranquility. It is a very modern hotel with individual detached bungalows constructed to a high standard of furnishing and comfort. The gardens are beautiful and immaculately maintained and afford privacy and shade for the bungalows. The cafe/restaurant is pleasant with good freshly prepared food at reasonable prices. The staff is warm and welcoming. The standout feature is the very large swimming pool which is very clean. We booked an extra day - it was so nice. You can walk to the beach but it is a little scruffy with plastic bottles strewn around, and some seaweed in the water but still possible to swim. There was no hassle from anyone.

The location is right on the beach, amazing views and in front of a Sand bank, with incredible rooms, comfortable and clean facilities, games, bar, books, pool and very cozy dining facilities. Few rooms and a very peaceful environment. Activities offered are for different tastes, time and price ranges and I thoroughly enjoyed the facilitation of the staff and the chosen guides for the activities. Staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, available and super responsive and very experienced. Dining was very nice and the menu for food and drinks variety allows for different choices for local and international cuisine at good value for money and generous portions. Overall I extremely recommend this facility as I had an amazing time and managed to rest and relax. Other restaurants and facilities and massages are available at very short beach walks from the hotel.

Everything was excellent, from being greeted as we arrived to check in by Lilian, taken to a truly amazing room (one of the best rooms we have stayed in anywhere in the world), and then the food prepared by a great team led by Chef Suneel, who catered to my special food requirement superbly every day. All the staff were fantastic and made us feel like honored guests - special mention to Stephen, Benson, James and Samba a in the bars and Ezekiel and Neema for meals service as well as Lilian and Chef Suneel. Very professional team, very nice to see in a new hotel. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean, and constantly maintained. Pools and beach fantastic!

It was small only 12 units and all were virtually on the beach. It was very personal and the staff were so attentive and NOTHING was too much to ask. The air con was perfect and the fan was sufficient most of the time. The rooms were able to be closed so even when the power went off (not the resorts fault) the rooms were kept very cool. The food especially the pizzas was excellent and the Italian flavour was great. They also organised tours for us which was great as it took hassle out of it. Also transport to and from airport so we were spoilt

A lovely villa in a beautiful resort. Everything was clean from the private pool and the villa itself to the shared swimming pool. Employees of the resort were very friendly and helpful. There are two nearby restaurants who serve good food. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend and might book again if we come to Zanzibar anytime in the future!

Hekaya is located in a beautiful, peaceful beach location. Compared to other places we stayed in Zanzibar, we liked the vibe on the beach here the most. Just down the beach from the Rock and lots of nice restaurants up and down the beach. The water is clear and blue without sea urchins. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. We especially loved being able to take our meals on our sunny, private balcony free of charge. Can’t recommend staying here enough!! Thanks Geoffrey and Jacquie

The location of our hotel was beautiful, it was quiet so was perfect for my honeymoon. I liked how the hotel is located in a village and seeings locals outside and activities to do and stuff to buy. My room had all the facilities we needed and AC/fan was good. Staff attended to our needs and looked after us well. I like the view from sitting at the top when we had our breakfast lovely view from the beach side. The pool was nice too and because it was quiet we still had our privacy.

The staff was very nice, competent and always worried about the client's happiness. Cleanliness is priority as well, you can tell. The food is phenomenal, a hidden gem in Zanzibar. A grocery store is available within the hotel with a lot of essential goods for the stay. The hotel doesn't have direct access to the beach but it offers a free transfer to the nearby beach, within the blue lagoon, just stunning. One of the best trips so far, I would recommend it to everyone.

Stunning hotel in a quiet location with beautiful Italian food and owners! Perfect if you just want somewhere quiet, away from the towns, and just a time to switch off and relax. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay in Miele, despite the limited numbers of reviews, it's a truly stunning place, the staff get to know you, and the food is top quality.
