United StatesFrom the moment we checked in, every single staff person was very friendly, kind and helpful! The suite we had was beyond expectations; much larger! The location was very convenient for the nature we wanted to experience, great for getting on highways, and convenient to many restaurants. Having a hot breakfast before we started our day was wonderful. One afternoon we had a nice time relaxing by the fireplace, chatting and drinking the complimentary tea/coffee- a te of wonderful memory making!

The location was around a lot of restaurants and shopping centers. It was very convenient. There is a few water parks one was about 15 or 20 minutes from hotel. They also have move theaters you can take the family too.

Akron caught us completely off guard.
Akron caught us completely off guard. We expected a quiet industrial town but found a legitimate downtown with real energy, and a Rubber Ducks game plus some great parks made for a genuinely fun weekend. The city has a fascinating industrial history that you can still feel in its character and architecture. And super friendly people! If you have written Akron off as a pass-through city, give it a second look because it is worth the visit.

The highlight of the trip was spending time on the trails in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, learning about local history, and visiting the incredible Summit County Metropolitan Parks system. After moving away from the area 50 years ago, it was a shock and disappointment to see downtown Akron. All I could think of was the Pretender's song "My City Was Gone" - Chrissie Hynde hit the nail on the head with her lyrics describing Akron...

The room was dirty.
The room was dirty. First a spider was crawling on the wall. Next the sheets were dirty. There was a bug on the sheet of one bed. The toilet had a brown ring as thought hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The toilet would not flush.
When I requested another room, I was told that the hotel was full and I was sent to the Hilton next door which only had king size bed. They refused to clean the room the next day. Oh what a horrible stay in Akron.
I should be compensated for the inconvenience. I am so disappointed in Holiday Inn Express. It is certainly no longer the hotel that I grew up staying in. All the quality and great service is gone.

I actually visited Fairlawn, not Akron.
I actually visited Fairlawn, not Akron. However I lived in the area for 25 years and I am familiar with it. Swenson’s for Galley Boys, Chipotle for burritos, Acme grocery has a well stocked health food section. There’s something to meet anyone’s tastes.

This motel is nasty and should be closed down!
This motel is nasty and should be closed down! It's filty, there was feces stains on a bedspread and on the bathroom walls. The room was infested with gnats. There are homeless and transient people everywhere, some were stealing donated clothing and items out of nearby collection boxes.

The hotel was very dirty, there was water damage on the celing and the paper was bubbled and hanging down, there was no main light, the door stop fell off, there were bugs possiably cockroches crawling on the floor, the room was dirty there was a musty damp smell in all the hotel and the hotel staff were unprofessional and looked like junkies! Would NOT recommend this hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and the grounds had plenty of space to walk my dog. The Wednesday reception was also excellent. Would stay here again in the future if I end up back in Akron.

The hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was also quiet and honestly love that bare floors over carpeted. Beds were comfortable. Affordable price for the location and hotel overall.
