FAQs about hotels in Brooklyn

The Giant of New York

Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

The deposit is not clear, and it is not mentioned on...

The deposit is not clear, and it is not mentioned on booking.com. - Staff are kind but for me one staff was racist and I was shouted at and humiliated just for asking to send an invoice. - I recommend the customer service is not that good as it destroyed the image creating a very unsafe environment for me as a customer. - The management needs more personnel for the night shift because, during my stay with the receptionist, I felt unsafe and no one else was present to reassure the staff; instead, my brother had to gently remove me and lead me to the lift. -The rooms are really small and the shower and toilets are in a very small space, for family members sharing a room is very difficult. I would only recommend it if you have a short stay there and I do not recommend it for European travellers as the deposit thing looks like a scam. The currency converter was a bit weird too. I ended up paying 100€ extra and still waiting for my deposit.

NYC what can i say? so much! Not only does BK have a vibe of it's own, it has different vibes. As a former resident, I look forward to doing all of the things that I never did when I lived there. Botanical gardens is next on the list.

Brooklyn is a vibrant, hip, and inclusive section of NYC.

Brooklyn is a vibrant, hip, and inclusive section of NYC. Parts of it remind me of the 60-70’s culture with a lot more money and style. People are busy but enjoy city life together at night. Brooklyn has a definite cool vibe. I felt it was an intelligent community and safe.

Great place that's evolved into a diverse chill environment.

Great place that's evolved into a diverse chill environment. Sure it's still the hustle bustle of Manhattan but it's more family oriented and less precious. You don't have to leave BK to enjoy food, culture and shopping. The museums and history is right there, along with sports and activities.

    Brooklyn is actually very awesome.

Brooklyn is actually very awesome. You could totally just do Brooklyn stuff and skip all the Manhattan pretense. There is lots to do but sometimes a pain to get around on subway (can't get there from here type of thing). Brooklyn Chinatown is probably the best in the area as far as safety, cleanliness, and chill vibe.

You pay for the absolutely stunning views from this hotel. I was upgraded to a higher floor and my view of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan from my window took my breath away. After staying at home for so long, it was refreshing to see a place so beautiful! I took several trips up to the roof to enjoy the gorgeous views and weather. The staff was kind and friendly. The lounge was equally as beautiful and we were seated at the most perfect location. I also tried the cafe downstairs and had a great breakfast. I was so happy with my stay!

First thing first, I love any hotel that provides free breakfast, so that was a plus! The hotel itself was nice and in a convenient location in downtown Brooklyn. The staff was nice and very accommodating. There was a hiccup in our first room when he checked our closet someone's undergarment was left behind. When we call the front desk they did not hesitate to get us a new room. The room had a nice spacious king bed which was super comfy. Overall my stay was short but still a comfortable stay and I would return again.

NU hotel is a lovely, bright and hip little hotel in downtown Brooklyn. It was perfect for a quick stay - excellent location near many trains and a lot of cute coffee shops and boutiques. The art on the walls in the rooms is so unique! The rooms were cozy and overall the hotel was very clean. I had to stay for work and there was a nice little workspace, as well. Free coffee and breakfast in the AM was definitely a perk!

If you know to expect a basic hotel with small rooms this hotel is perfect! It’s clean, the staff are very friendly and give you water or whatever you need, it’s a great location right by Bedford Ave in W’burg, and the beds, linen etc. are super comfortable. Plus it was so cheap for 3 nights. there’s also a coworking area and lots of outdoor spaces, and you’re on the doorstep of some very good restaurants and cafes.

We were surprised how expensive New York hotels have become but we eventually found Henry Norman in Brooklyn and found it to be a real treat. The hotel offers a low cost very acceptable breakfast and although no evening restaurant, the Brooklyn area is plastered with cheap, very good takeaways which although not the Ritz were safe, fun and even quirky.
