Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.
Loads of great bars, cafes, shops and restaurants to explore...
Loads of great bars, cafes, shops and restaurants to explore alongside the parks and walks. Only a 10 minute subway into Manhattan when needed too. Definitely the best area to stay whilst visiting New York. More chilled out and relaxed than being in the centre of Manhattan. The ease of the subway means you can get around Williamsburg, Red Hook, Bushwick etc. in no time at all and then down to Coney Island in about 45 minutes.

I stayed in New York for two weeks in total. For the first 11 days I stayed in Midtown Manhattan and the last 3 in Brooklyn. I loved it there and wish I stayed for more days. The neighbourhood was amazing, nice shops, restaurants and bars and the vibe in general was super.

It is well located to explore many areas by foot. Very comfortable hotel, good breakfast and really helpful staff. Having a bar/restaurant in the hotel was most useful, particularly on my first evening then I didn’t feel up to looking for somewhere to eat.
The area itself has little to offer, but it’s not far to walk to Dunbo, Brooklyn Heights. Carroll Gardens, Prospect park and Park Slope to name only a few. Around the corner in Gold Street Botte is a lively and lovely Italian restaurant.

We visited Brooklyn for a specific event and ended up really enjoying the vibe around the area. The area around the Barclay's Center has so many good restaurants and bars that are fun and opened even after shows are over.

Brooklyn is a very busy city.
Brooklyn is a very busy city. There are many options for activities and sightseeing. The traffic is very, very busy and the parking is almost impossible. If you know where you are going and what time you need to be there you must definitely factor in your commute.
A proper boutique hotel. Beautiful design with industrial-chic decor and a lovely staff to welcoming you. Spacious room. We were impressed by the minibar. Excellent toiletries (which made me booking the hotel..the devil is in the details 😄). The view from the bar Blondeau was literally over-the-top (although the cocktails could be better).
Good location to visit Williamsburg, less than 10 min walking from the subway (direct connection to Manhattan).
Very nice property and I really like the feel of most of these Indigo hotels. This one exceeded my expectations. Really nice bar on the 4th floor with views of lower Manhattan. The L train is right on the corner for a quick trip to Manhattan. Great Brooklyn vibe!
Pretty big room for the price and a comfortable bathroom. The hotel is located among a lot of places I wanted to visit. Walking distance of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge and Barclay's Center. The bed was comfortable.
Best place to have a real experience of the neighbourhood of New York, Brooklyn in this case. Forget the hotels. In this place you can live 100% your journey in NY
