Dover has a lot to offer from it's Historical Downtown views and feels to the abundance of food and shopping choices. I had some very good wings and Pizza from Curry Pizza. Bally's is another great place to hangout even if you don't gamble

An economical choice made close to midnight on an app, so we were just looking for two beds, clean room, coffee and breakfast in the morning. We received all of that here at the Sleep Inn. Earlier that day we at lunch at a nearby Panera Bread, and the property is also near the university, racetrack, and Bally's casino. About a 15-minute ride to Dover AFB, or possibly quicker on the turnpike. I have particular preferences, so given more time I may have picked a nicer hotel for a little higher price, but there was nothing bad about the Sleep Inn worth noting. Staff was friendly at check in. We did have an issue with our door lock losing battery power the next morning. Bill from maintenance repaired it within 5 minutes. Note to almost all hotel management everywhere: strive to be more like the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. WHY? The RCH prides itself on high levels of customer service. Managers should inspect every aspect of their property to ensure cleanliness in every corner of the property, courtesies are extended to every guest, customer service is a culture of every single employee from maintenance to manager, leadership reinforces these values at all levels. Don't think of yourself as just the Sleep Inn but think of yourself as the best property that Dover has to offer and strive each day to make that goal a reality. Doing this will ensure a high guest rating every time!

Dover is a fun place to visit with lots to do, including...

Dover is a fun place to visit with lots to do, including museums, art galleries, historic properties, golf courses, farmlands, wetlands and beautiful parks. However, the main roads are always busy, and downtown in the historic area, parking is difficult. The casino is loud, and the machines are mostly for the big spenders. We had two terrific meals: one at Olive Garden and one at Outback Steakhouse. We played golf at Garrisons Lake and Jonathans Landing golf Courses which were in good shape. We were unable to visit the farming museum as it is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

We liked the downtown area.

We liked the downtown area. We enjoyed both McGlynn's and Countrie Eatery! Dover's closeness to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is the reason we stayed there. We enjoyed great birdwatching there and very pleasant walks. Getting around Dover was easy and pleasant.

We liked the size of the room, the mattress, and the pillows...

We liked the size of the room, the mattress, and the pillows and the nearby ( walking distance ) Chinese King Buffet was better than great but 1 ) no hot water in the bathroom sink, 2 ) unable to enter in the nearest exterior door with our key card last but not least 3 ) waiting for breakfast, especially coffee past 7:15 AM. The first morning I could pick raisin brand cereal but after that only sugar covered cereal choices were available which I can NOT eat.

We were in Dover to visit family.

We were in Dover to visit family. The city of Dover is relatively quiet, driving isn't bad, not much congestion. We ate at Olive Garden and Applebee's (we stayed in Dover two nights). Overall, people were mostly friendly, parking isn't an issue at all at most places.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express hotel and suites. The hotel was very clean and hot breakfast was delicious with a lot to choose from. The staff was accommodating and polite. The location was in a good location and easy for me to get where I needed to go.
