Huge blooming clouds float across the bright blue sky. Cornfields. Everywhere. Lots of orchards, parks, and lakes. Birds of all kinds proliferate. Lovely historic architecture, sleek modern houses and mid-century homes create a visually interesting and very attractive landscape amid swaths of greenery-- and it all works. Dover feels historic, homey, arty, country, and modern by turns. Lots of variety -- yet the pace is peaceful and relaxed. It's a hidden jewel of the coast.

Dover is a great town rich in American history.
Dover is a great town rich in American history. The town is neat and well kept and has many things to do and see.
We were fortunate enough to be able to go downtown and celebrate our country's 250th anniversary and the celebration was grand, complete with fireworks, speeches, and a variety of festivities. Lots of historic landmarks and buildings
I would highly recommend visiting Dover, especally if you enjoy our country's history as much as I do!

Dover has a lot to offer from it's Historical Downtown views and feels to the abundance of food and shopping choices. I had some very good wings and Pizza from Curry Pizza. Bally's is another great place to hangout even if you don't gamble

An economical choice made close to midnight on an app, so we were just looking for two beds, clean room, coffee and breakfast in the morning. We received all of that here at the Sleep Inn.
Earlier that day we at lunch at a nearby Panera Bread, and the property is also near the university, racetrack, and Bally's casino. About a 15-minute ride to Dover AFB, or possibly quicker on the turnpike.
I have particular preferences, so given more time I may have picked a nicer hotel for a little higher price, but there was nothing bad about the Sleep Inn worth noting. Staff was friendly at check in.
We did have an issue with our door lock losing battery power the next morning. Bill from maintenance repaired it within 5 minutes.
Note to almost all hotel management everywhere: strive to be more like the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. WHY? The RCH prides itself on high levels of customer service. Managers should inspect every aspect of their property to ensure cleanliness in every corner of the property, courtesies are extended to every guest, customer service is a culture of every single employee from maintenance to manager, leadership reinforces these values at all levels.
Don't think of yourself as just the Sleep Inn but think of yourself as the best property that Dover has to offer and strive each day to make that goal a reality. Doing this will ensure a high guest rating every time!

Dover is a fun place to visit with lots to do, including museums, art galleries, historic properties, golf courses, farmlands, wetlands and beautiful parks. However, the main roads are always busy, and downtown in the historic area, parking is difficult. The casino is loud, and the machines are mostly for the big spenders. We had two terrific meals: one at Olive Garden and one at Outback Steakhouse. We played golf at Garrisons Lake and Jonathans Landing golf Courses which were in good shape. We were unable to visit the farming museum as it is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Dover's closeness to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is the reason we stayed there. We enjoyed great birdwatching there and very pleasant walks.
Getting around Dover was easy and pleasant.

The room was basic, but clean and everything worked. The staff were really lovely, especially the male reception worker - he was super friendly and helpful all weekend, and really was the reason the stay was great.
