The New Haven Inn is located off Interstate 95, just four miles from Yale University and two miles from Southern Connecticut State University. Did not have the breakfast; attending a funeral and had to be in MA by 9 am; would like for breakfast to start a little earlier than 8 am but for the most part I enjoyed the seclusion of the area of the hotel and felt safe. Would definitely recommend because the price was right.

The receptionist in the evening was not very welcoming at all! the place definitely needs to be updated. Duct tape was used to hold up the door lock. I definitely paid way too much for such a rundown place.
the city has great architecture and good restaurants, Yale's campus is beautiful. We did see alot of homeless people and alot of people who seemed to be struggling with drug addiction and there were some seedier areas, but otherwise a nice little city
Went here for a work conference, and had no idea it was such an iconic food mecca! Has two of the top rated pizza places in the nation (including the number 1!), the joint where the hamburger was created, and the campus of one of the most prestigious Ivy League schools in the country (Yale). My wife really enjoyed touring Yale campus and checking out the museums.
New haven is where Yale is. Thats the only reason to visit in my opinion. I was there for work. The restaurants and bars are nice and upscale. Neighborhoods about 1/2 mile outside of town get real sketchy.
Yale supports vibrant restaurants and shops but don’t fool yourself; New Haven is one of the most poverty stricken and unsafe areas in the state. Drug abuse is a mamouth problem as is massive homelessness. It’s a very strange place.
It’s a small and compact city of university campuses. It’s cozy and relaxing. The most amazing thing is the old Yale buildings with ancient architecture. The people there are friendly and helpful too. You would find everything is within your reach. The airport is very small and quiet, and quite close to New Haven. The restaurants are quite good, but I don’t recommend Chinese restaurants there. Although the food was good, the owners were terribly rude.

My son attends Yale and we always try to come back to this hotel because of the location !! This was our 3rd stay here. Everything is walking distance and on site parking is a definite draw. The front desk staff has always been polite and helpful, the room clean and welcoming, love their comfortable bedding, and the fact that there are lots of outlets for electronics. I like that they sometimes have flavored water & coffee set up in the lobby, meet and made friends with fellow travelers there. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

It is a very cozy room with a lot of vintage decoration, which is awesome! The room is huge with 3 bedrooms and the kitchen is well-equipped, it has everything we need. There is a huge TV in the living room that has a Netflix channel, which I loved!! The owner of the house is very friendly, every time we call her, she is super patient with us! The house is located next to Yale University, it takes me about 10 minutes to walk to the campus of Yale.

Such a wonderful discovery. After traveling extensively in hotel chains, what a beautiful surprise to step in this historic mansion full of art created by its owners.
