United StatesUnexpectedly comfortable and quiet considering the economic rate. Room was clean and mattress firm. Staff (especially Kate) was extremely accommodating as we rushed to get dressed for a formal occasion with friends. Perfect location for a lovely walk through Hammock Park to beach. Breakfast in the morning was a surprise bonus that included sausage and eggs, serving until 10 AM! Decaf coffee (for me) and regular coffee available 24/7.

We were too far from the ocean, the walk from the resort was a long walk in the heat. I liked the Fort, it was nice but the heat was just too much. The resort was not what I expected for $300 a night. I expect far better for that much money. Guy Harvey, fix your issues. I didn't get to really get out to walk around or go to any museums because of the heat. One Cuban restaurant we ate at sucked big time and cost way too much for what we got. Smokey D's BBQ was excellent!

Staff was friendly! Rooms are small. Advertised ocean front but sand dunes cover view and it’s over a football field walk to get to ocean. We noticed vehicles on beach & found out we cld have driven on beach for $10 a day so wld have saved money by not staying on “ocean front” and driving on beach. We had to pay $100 resort fee and wouldn’t consider it a resort. The grounds we beautifully landscaped and they was a mini golf next door that also sold soft serve ice cream. Overall we enjoyed the week even tho a bit pricey! The seafood kitchen was recommended by staff that said a lot of the locals eat there. It was the best & least expensive place we ate! The salt life restaurant was a BUST! Really expensive and small portions. We spent $50 on meal and left & went back to the seafood kitchen and ate again lol

The beach is beautiful.
The beach is beautiful. It's clean - beach and the water so blue. You can drive right on the beach and a lot of folks did that. Sand was soft and easy to walk on. I would go back to this beach many times.

If one enjoys the beach, then this is good choice -- the beach is wide, clean, with a gentle taper. The beach is Not crowded, but Not isolated. This area is about a 15-minute or so car drive to Saint Augustine, which is interesting. In the Saint Augustine Beach area there is shopping and some restaurants; there is much more shopping and more restaurants in Saint Augustine, including along U. S. route 1. If one does Not have a car, then Saint Augustine Beach might Not be a first choice.

Very short visit.
Very short visit. Weather was very windy so we didn’t go in the ocean. Disappointing, but no one’s fault. Red flag was up, it wasn’t worth the risk. Went into St. Augustine for dinner and as we parked and were about to “feed the meter”, it started raining, pouring actually, so we left, went back to the beach area and ate there. Not what we planned, but it was fine!

Perfect location for what we wanted to do and very comfy beds. The shower had an old bar of soap left from the previous people but in housekeeping defense it was high up on the shelf and she wasn't very tall. It was handled immediately.

This hotel is very good, the room is very clean and comfortable. I have two dogs and this place is very nice with dogs. The restaurant has a perfect food.
