Offering free WiFi throughout the property, Lake View Suites is located in West Yellowstone, 16 miles from National Geographic IMAX Theater and 16 miles from Yellowstone Historic Center Museum. We had a fantastic stay at the Lake View. In fact the lake view is so stunning that it is well worth the price and the 14 mile distance from the town. We always prefer to stay in apartments. The unit is perfect in size and functions. Each unit has a balcony area with tables for you to enjoy the view. The hotel is very well run. Breakfast is hearty and delicious. I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

The location of the town was great for access to Yellowstone. However, the town wasn't what I expected. I would compare it to being at a boardwalk town at the beach. Most of the motels didn't seem to be in great shape and the town didn't give off a good vibe. For as great as the park is, the town was disappointing. It is probably worth spending the extra money to stay at lodging in the park.
Right on the cusp of being another Jackson. They're starting to get a couple of new age places to dine and drink at. But right at this point - they have the hotel prices of Jackson - without the amenities of Jackson. And because it's so hard to get workers in those parts - half the town isn't even open on Sundays or Mondays. (Everyone traveling to this destination should be warned of this fact.)
Yellowstone Park is awesome and the Grey Wolf Hotel was very nice but everyone has truly crappy/worthless coffee makers in their rooms. If you really like your morning coffee you're going to be very unhappy.
So I came in the West gate, and followed the simple map to see Old Faithfull). Stop as much as you can, the buffalo came out early to feed and graze. Don't be stupid and try to take selfies with these wild animals, you will end up hurt or dead and on the news. Lots of geysers to see along the way, beautiful country to take pics of. There is road construction going on (but this would be due to just bad roads from snow and cars}. At the visitors center for Old Faithfull there is lots to take in, there is also gas available. And a restaurant to eat at and Old Faithfull does do its thing. I then went out the east gate, be advised lots of 1 road construction going on and it is a long ride to the east gate, but lots of beautiful things to see. When you get into Cody Wyoming go into town to find a place to stay, and there's a rodeo every night at the big arena.
We have been to Yellowstone many times and stayed in West Yellowstone many times. The town and people are great. But over the years the quality of the merchandise in the stores has dropped to the county fair quality. We bought a beautiful bronze sculpture in West Yellowstone in 2002. There is nothing there now like that store. We only found one store with really nice decorating merchandise.
West Yellowstone is a tourist town, so prices are high. But there is a good vibe about the place, and it provides a great location for visiting various parts of Yellowstone - much closer than the other (remaining) gateway towns. You can get around on foot - it's very walkable. Recommended eating: Wild West Pizza, the ice cream place with the churn in the back, the falafel truck... all good for vegetarians. An upper floor hotel room will get you a mountain view!
The hotel exceeded service expectations with Ice Cream hour, S'more packs and the fire pit, free bikes to tour the town, and the wolf on the bed, and more. We were on a tight schedule and we had so much fun in West Yellowstone (our first visit) that we skipped Yellowstone Park (where we had been before} and moved on to Mount Rushmore. It's an interesting town that has mixed the Old West vibe with very chill vibe, "Be Patient" yard signs, and recycle bins on most every corner, very successfully.
West Yellowstone
Good location, right in the center of West Yellowstone and 10 min. away from the west entry of the national park. A lot of parking lots on the street. If you get back late from the park, which is very likely, there are more parking space in the back place. Very nice people there, excellent house keeping service. Microwave machine in the room is a very big bonus. You can also find outlets and USB ports right on the bed side lamp, very easy to charge 2 cell phones, 1 ipad and 1 camera at the same time.
Breakfast was convenient and suitable, fresh and good. Pool and jacuzzi were always sparkling clean and I enjoyed them. Great location to enter Yellowstone National Park and also enjoy eating and shopping and see attractions in West Yellowstone. Staff was very kind. Booked the room after I learned it would be too cold to sleep in the camper van at this point in mid May. This hotel is listed at 2.5 stars, I would give it higher, around 3.5.
West Yellowstone
Great location for Yellowstone if only the authorities had not closed the park! Not the hotels fault and they were very helpful in letting me cut short my stay due to the park closure. I will use this place again when I make another attempt to visit Yellowstone. Don't let 1 star put you off. If all you need is a decent sized room with a comfortable bed, Wi-Fi and a good shower then this is perfect.
Everything was quite ok. We were a bit afraid to go there after reading some of the rating reviews, but it was the last available hotel in this place for the moment 😊 And it turned out to be quite a normal hotel. Clean enough, comfortable enough. Very good location: close to the entrance to the park, several restaurants walking distance.
West Yellowstone
The hotel was surprisingly luxurious - a big room, quality linens & beds, thoughtful decor. Breakfast was extraordinary - lots of choices. Don't be fooled by the fact that it looks like a roadside motel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location across from the park was perfect - walkable to all of West Yellowstone.
West Yellowstone
We loved the size of the room and the chic design. West Yellowstone is extremely expensive, especially during Summer 2021, but Elkhorn was one of the cheapest hotels I found PLUS it appeared to be the cutest in town! Really enjoyed our stay here and we cannot wait to come back. Book this NOW!
I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is great. They picked the best restaurants in town. Our room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The hotel provides a free laundry which came in very handy. I would definitely stay here again.

West Yellowstone
The cabins were in like new shape and apotless. The location to Yellowstone National Park is as good as it gets. Great fireplace and comfortable beds. THE place to stay in West Yellowstone.
The hotel is perfectly located, the rooms are large and clean and the breakfast is ok. On top of that, there is a free pool and solid internet. A good choice for a beautiful region!
West Yellowstone
The room was perfect for a family of 4. Cozy, not extravagant. Perfect location in West Yellowstone and a great value compared to the other hotels in the area.
Great little hotel in the heart of West Yellowstone. Close to everything and the West Gate. The staff is absolutely wonderful and hard working.
Great city. Rustic vibe of hotel. Clean and comfortable. Walkable. Laundry machines. Close to west yellowstone.
Nice hotel with excellent location to access Yellowstone.
West Yellowstone
Probably the best experience I've had in past 3 years. Family owned and run, and they really care about doing things to be gracious, clean, and helpful hosts.
