We had lovely, very tasty ostrich steak and roast veggies for dinner and a delicious cooked breakfast. Our overall experience left a very positive feeling about the hotel; old time grandeur!!

The house and decor is really nice.
The house and decor is really nice. The views from the stoep are beautiful and that is where you will spend most of your time by the fire. The house has everything. Bed was very comfortable. Hot tub was nice even in wninter, just get it hot enough. We just never had shampoo in our bathroom and didnt bring with on our trip so take incase. We got stuck on a game drive with our 4x4 but the farmer happily pulled us out, thankfully. I recommend a stay here.

De Rust is just a stunning small town with the most incredible people living there. I cannot reccommend this place enough. If you make the effort to go to De Rust you will always make a plan to come back.

Lovely little town and very friendly people.
Lovely little town and very friendly people. The tourism office informed us not to go to Meeringspoort as it was closed due to a hectic storm in the night. We wandered around De Rust and visited a few of the shops. Had a long chat with the owner of the antique shop - very interesting. Took a few photos of the quaint shops. Well worth a visit to this town!!

We needed a break, and that is exactly what we got.
We needed a break, and that is exactly what we got. The village itself is very pleasant, and we visited it once, but our real purpose was to be away from distractions. We arrived with all our supplies , so there was no need to go shopping. We simply had every moment to enjoy the peace.

The area surrounding De Rust is beautiful, especially the mountain passes, which have stunning scenery and lots of hiking opportunities. There are very few shops or restaurants in De Rust, but Oudtshoorn is just a easy 30km drive away and this has plenty of shops, restaurants and activities. Staying on a farm between the Meiringspoort pass and De Rust was perfect though. Just buy plenty of groceries before you get there!

We spent a night at the farm and had a very restful time.
We spent a night at the farm and had a very restful time. Beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Lovely accomodation with everything you need on hand. The host was very helpful and I would highly recommend a stay over here.

Everything was perfect.
The place was beautiful and clean.
The views are jaw dropping, and you can enjoy watching the sun set while relaxing by the bonfire.
Whatever utensils you need, are provided.
Debbie was very welcoming.
Extra blankets and electric blankets were provided for those cold Karoo nights.
A complimentary bottle of wine made from grapes grown on the farm made it extra special.
The surrounding area is magnificent. Cape Nature does an excellent job at making it accessible. De Rust has some excellent eateries for lunch.

The cottage is 8km from De Rust and easy to find. The self catering facilities are good, the water is hot and the braai area excellent. Wood is provided for 2 braai's. The view from the cottage is across the fields to the mountains. It is very quiet and the perfect place to stay for up to 4 people. The price is reasonable.

Lovely hotel with old world charm, spotlessly clean and Bernadette and Werner's hospitality and attentiveness were 1st rate. Centrally located, so can watch the town from the front stoep with your favorite beverage. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay!
