A beautiful property with amazing hosts! I booked the unit for the night before my wedding and to get ready the next morning. They left a bottle of champagne in the room for the occasion. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the views of the mountains from the upstairs bedroom are phenomenal! The aircon was an absolute lifesaver in the summer heat. There are two beautiful bathrooms and the upstairs area has been renovated recently. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area!

The area surrounding De Rust is beautiful, especially the mountain passes, which have stunning scenery and lots of hiking opportunities. There are very few shops or restaurants in De Rust, but Oudtshoorn is just a easy 30km drive away and this has plenty of shops, restaurants and activities. Staying on a farm between the Meiringspoort pass and De Rust was perfect though. Just buy plenty of groceries before you get there!

We spent a night at the farm and had a very restful time.

We spent a night at the farm and had a very restful time. Beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Lovely accomodation with everything you need on hand. The host was very helpful and I would highly recommend a stay over here.

The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay.

The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay. There is a large back patio with built-in braai, protected from the water and a front stoep to soak in the beautiful views. The bathrooms are really spacious with large walk in showers. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is no TV but fast wifi so streaming from your phone is easy.

It is a very quaint and tranquil little town bout 30 km from Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. There is an ample amount of restaurants and wine shops and a few souvenir shops. Spending a full day to experience the real charm of the little village. While there take a short drive into Meiringspoort and discover CJ Langenhovens carved stone with the inscription Herry, which was the name of his imaginary elephant or travel up to the waterfall, all a mere 10 or 12 kim from De Rust.

De Rust is a beautiful, picturesque town and good for your mental health to get away and re-charge. The eatery/shop in De Rust, called Pluim/ Frieda Schoeman is highly recommended. Well worth a visit

De Rust is a small rustic town ideal for an overnight stop enroute somewhere else. Everything is within walking distance. The town is spotlessly clean, people are very friendly and helpful. It is surrounded by magnificent mountains and very close to the must see Meirings Poort. Lovely coffee shops for breakfast and lunch with one restaurant open for dinner.

WE liked the fact that we were the only people on the property. We had the whole house to ourselves. The house is properly equipped with all the amenities that you need to have a pleasurable stay. The property is well situated giving you access to the whole of De rust. The host, Karen, went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and sorted.

The cottage is 8km from De Rust and easy to find. The self catering facilities are good, the water is hot and the braai area excellent. Wood is provided for 2 braai's. The view from the cottage is across the fields to the mountains. It is very quiet and the perfect place to stay for up to 4 people. The price is reasonable.

Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival which was a nice touch! Debbie was very friendly and helpful. Location not far from De Rust town or Meiringspoort waterfall which is stunning in Swartberg pass about 15 min drive away.
