Meijer’s Rust is located on a working farm surrounded by the Swartberg Mountains and 1 km from Meiringspoort with its gorge and waterfalls. Spacious and well furnished, with a big comfy bed, lovely view, nice bathroom and functional kitchen, this place has everything. Very good wifi. Super relaxing, with lush nature all around . Plus we loved chatting with the owner and cuddling with his dogs (Melly stole my boyfriend's heart!) and 2 orphaned calves. Very good vibes 💖
Within the Swartberg Mountains, located in the village centre of De Rust, HouseMartin Lodge & Self Catering features an outdoor swimming pool, garden and free Wi-Fi access. Location was great and my room was perfect. We had dinner at the lodge which was awesome.
Die Malvahuisie is set in De Rust, on the foothills of the majestic Swartberg Mountain and 12 km away from Meiringspoort Waterfall. This property features a plunge pool. Anmarie very helpfull and friendly! Very neat... Beautiful cottage! We love De Rust!
Situated in De Rust in the Western Cape region, with Meiringspoort Waterfall and Waterfall nearby, Varkenskraal Farm features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The house was spotless and was nestled in the mountains. It was very well equipped with everything you might want to do. Debbie was very helpful re getting the keys and in the purchase of one of the vineyard's fine wines. This was in addition to the excellent Chenin blanc in the fridge. The property itself is quite isolated and nestled beside the highway going through the Meiringspoort Pass. The incredible Meiringspoort Waterfall is only a short drive away. On the property itself there are two dams - one of which you can go swimming in. This we certainly did as the temperature hit 40 plus when we were there. Definitely a place to come back to.
Situated in De Rust, within 5 km of Schoeman S Gallery and 18 km of Meiringspoort Waterfall, Asher Stable Stay features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for... Friendly host and everything else. ☺️ Very clean and neat.
Room @ Irissa Sanctuary is situated in the village of De Rust, a 15-minutes drive from the scenic Meiringspoort Waterfall and the Swartberg Mountains. Firstly, the house smells wonderful! I believe it is the base for host Karen's Reiki practice, so the whole place has a very restful feel to it and there is also a lot of artwork. The room was great; there was coffee and tea provided but also the use of the fridge and kitchen; the mosquitoes were a problem, but Karen supplied pretty much everything under the sun to combat them (fan, mozzie net, anti-mozzie plug). Big comfy bathroom; pretty back yard. De Rust is a small but lovely place - Karen readily gave us dinner recommendations (thankfully, because options were limited - but Cafe Rust, which we went to, was perfect).
Set in De Rust, 11 km from Schoeman S Gallery and 22 km from Meiringspoort Waterfall, Ribboksfontein Guest Farm offers accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden and barbecue facilities.... A 10 review I have never given before but Ribboksfontein Guest Farm truly deserves it. Amazing experience with beautiful views and animals on this large farm all to yourself. We enjoyed our walking safari's, looking at all the animal tracks from the night before trying to figure out what it all was walking/hopping/crawling around ;). For the animal enthusiast it's really a great place, giraffes, black wildebeest, springbok, some shy kudu's and hare in the evening to name some animals we've seen. And don't forget to spot the tiny critters like toktokkies and balbyter. For Dutch visitors also a great place to work on your BBQ skills with a great South African wood burning braai. Forget the quickfix bbq with gas or brikets and braai SA style after a day exploring the farm.
Located in De Rust in the Western Cape region, Kleingeluk Guest Farm provides accommodation with free private parking. Private, view of farm and mountains. Everything is meticulously clean and neat. The farmer has one of the best kept farms I have ever seen. Position is stunning. Cycling friendly. Beautiful vistas. Birding hotspot.
Nice quaint little village. We tested the hiking trail on the Meijers Rust farm, which were nice. Saw a large group of baboons and some buck. Also the Meiringspoort waterfall is well worth a visit - short walk from the parking up to the waterfall and the scenery is just spectacular.
Small but charming, surrounded by lovely mountains, on the South side of the Meiringspoort Pass. A good trip would loop around Meiringspoort Pass (tarred, easy driving) to Prince Albert and return via Swartberg Pass (tougher driving). Both of these Passes take a while to drive, both are worth the effort, and are different enough to make both worthwhile.
Friendly and hospitable people. It is always a pleasure to stop when traveling through De Rust and our weekend stay was memorable and pleasant. Many nice place and for an excellent meal, stop at the Spekboom Restaurant at the Rooi Donkie. You will love it
This was an excellent stop over while doing route 62 before continuing through Meiringspoort and the Swartberg pass which is what Barry, our host advised us to do. Amazing variety of fauna on the farm and fascinating farming methods. Interesting little town with some worthwhile "look-ins". Definitely a good choice!
We stayed at the stone cottage a way from the main house and chalets ....needed a high clearance to get there. Beautifully restored and set against the mountains, it was special. The cooking and bathing facilities were all outside which we loved and "easy access to mountain walks was great. Everything we wanted was available and we loved chatting to our very interesting host Barry. We definitely would like to come back again.
Lovely little town!! Nice restaurant and coffee shop in town. The surrounding areas are beautiful and De Rust is well situated to drive to all of these. We drove through Meirings Poort and visited the waterfall which was really nice to see. There are lovely place to go for a drive or walk. The surrounding towns are also very nice. We loved the "padstal" right outside De Rust when you enter from the Oudtshoorn side!!
Nice big family rooms in a good location. De Rust is a charming little village at the foot of the Swartberg Pass, with lots of little restaurants (next time we’ll try those). Braai facilities and communal garden and pool are well maintained and create a nice place to chat to some of the other people staying there (although there is enough space to keep your distance if you prefer your privacy). En voor de Nederlandse toerist altijd leuk om een landgenoot te ontmoeten als eigenaar van dit leuke plekje.
This self catering property have everthing you need for a enjoyable stay. The owner put a lot of effort in to the cottage to create a home away form home. The activities on the farm walking, cyling and swimming was good. The communication with the owner was also good with clear navigation to get there
Our friendly and interesting host added to the value of our stay. She is well balanced. If we ever should go to De Rust again and this accommodation is available, there is no doubt, we will go and stay there again.
Beautiful and comfortable room. Located in the main road, but with safe parking. Restaurant is walking distance from the guest house. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and De Rust.
The accommodation did not include breakfast and the location is excellent. Close to de Rust and Meiringspoort. Thank you for the free bottle of Varkenkraal wine and milk.
Perfect location. Excellent communication with host. Lovely spacious house with beautiful decor & linen. De Rust is an awesome town. Highly recommend a visit.
We loved staying on this property right next to De Rustica Olive Farm, the staff were extremely friendly and Priscilla made us a very good breakfast.
Tranquil and rural in beautiful surroundings with a welcoming host and close to De Rust
Stunning cottage in the perfect spot to explore De Rust on foot.
Excellent stay, the farm atmosphere was amazing.
