The town itself is not as quaint as expected, but the restaurants and hotel make up for that. The wine farms in the area are all gorgeous and the road to each is scenic, with the mountain range forming the backdrop. i enjoyed it.

Tulbagh is an old world town - filled with Cape Dutch homes and buildings. There are a few eateries in town - Chef & Co being the best. A visit to the earthquake museum a little disappointing but still worth a visit.

Allow at least a full day to visit wine farms in the area. Meal at Readers was really great A walk along the historic Church street is recommended. Interesting to see the kitchen garden community project - such a great initiative.

Historical, but also lots of wineries etc. Not much to do if you're not a foodie, or outdoorsy, probably, but if you are, it's a bit different to the usual wineries. Great place for a stopover on your way back to Cape Town. The town has gone to effort to put itself on the tourist map, which is commendable.

Breakfast was excellent. You are given a choice of breakfast from eggs / bacon benedict, breakfast pizza, or full English breakfast. You also receive a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and a granola yogurt. Accommodation was excellent, clean shower, AC, comfortable bed and a gorgeous swimming pool with braai facilities awaited us. Centrally located and less than 3kkms from all the popular wine farms. Also enjoyed an excellent wine tasting from the knowledgeable Stephan.

The location is simply gorgeous. The host and her son are warm and engaging. The thick walls ensure quiet, even when it is busy. The pool is wonderful for a Summer's day. It is a short drive to the wine farms and restaurants in Tulbagh.

Beautiful views from the bed and from the hot tub. Very modern and newly built. I loved how nearby it is to Montpellier which is a very pet friendly wine farm. We had our 2 dogs with us and it was a lovely pet-friendly weekend away.
