The amount of nature and animals surrounding us was absolutely fenomenal. We did pretty much all the trails available on the property, saw monkeys, frogs, the Arenal volcano (best view we had while in the area). It was fabuluos!

Everyone at the bungalows was so kind and Carla was extremely helpful, she sent us some great suggestions for sightseeing/activities/restaurants. The location is a little bit outside of the main townsite of La Fortuna, which made it very quiet and relaxing. Super easy to get to town by cab/uber/a 20 minute walk, close to many activities like coffee and chocolate tours and you are surrounded by stunning views of the volcanos. And there is an excellent place to eat (El Chante Verde) just down the road.

These comfortable villas feature a common use outdoor pool, free parking and Wi-Fi access, plus they include the continental breakfast for its guests. Our stay at the San Rafael ecolodge was absolutely FANTASTIC! I cannot even begin to describe how much we enjoyed ourselves. Giovanni and Luis were so, so kind and accomodating, they constantly went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. They helped us book activities and taught us so much about the area and the culture. We came with 6 kids and stayed in two villas, they were perfect for us. Waking up to the sounds of nature in the magnificent surrounding rainforest was unforgettable. The lodge is close to all of the attractions around La Fortuna and it was easy to find our way around. The grounds of the lodge are magnificent, and the kids loved looking for creatures in the forest and streams surrounding the cabins.

Before arrive you recieve all necessary details to easily find the place. The spend the night in the house like that is extraordinery experiance. Land lady Cristina is absolutely awesome person who shows you their farm next morning. To Volcano Poas it takes 45min, if you have 4x4 than 20min.

The host was very helpful, the house was clean and tidy, perfect for a stay near the Arenal volcano. He gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, activities and helped us to organise entrance tickets. All in all, we are very happy to have stayed here, I can only recommend it to everyone.
