Skalanes Nature Heritage Centre is 19 km from Langahlid Cottages, while Egilsstadir town centre is 29 km away. Loved the little cabin! Sadly, we had very little time to enjoy it. We got to the cabin shortly before midnight and were out on the road by 10 am next morning. Communication from the host was great! Easy key pickup, cabin was clean and VERY well stocked. Probably the best stocked I've seen throughout the trip. Some food items were for sale, and quite up-charge, but great convenience non less. We didn't need them that night, but there were nights earlier on our trip we would greatly benefit from it and gladly paid the premium price.

With mountain views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Outdoor seating is also available at the villa. Amazing location. Hilmir was an amazing host. We had some questions and he came within minutes to help us. Property's location is amazing and the drive to the property is even better. We enjoyed the sauna as well. We were travelling in a group of 7 including kids and each one of us wanted to stay for longer.

Each holiday home has wooden interiors and a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. A sauna, hot tub and yoga mats are also available. We loved the cabin and its surroundings. It's secluded enough to feel isolated, yet a five-minute drive from the grocery store, gas station, etc. It was clean and all the appliances were in perfect working order. We cooked dinner and enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
