We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

The owner is super kind, we didn't expect the pick up but he had tried to arrange it for us even he was still busy on the date we've arrived. The room is big with 2 stories, 2 bedrooms. The location is not far from old town and just in front of beautiful scenic canel with many Sakura trees (but we were there in should season, so no luck to see Sakura by the canel. This room is super value for money.

The home theater system is truly great, very easy to use. The owner helped us with knowing the house and how to handle anything in it, he made us feel like home. Great location, right in the middle of the old town, just 13 minutes walk from the Takayama station so it is very easy to get to. If we will ever be back in Takayama, there is absolutely no doubt, I will try to sleep there again ! Seriously, if it is available, don't hesitate, you won't have another chance to sleep in this kind of accomodations..

Before our arrival, yoshiki stay contacted us, asking what time we intend to arrive at hida furukawa station so that he could guide us to the accommodation. After meeting us at the station with umbrellas for all of us (just in case we don't have) he walked us to the accommodation, sat with us at the table and explained us all the details with extra care. While walking to the accommodation, he recommended us restaurants, explained the surrounding buildings and shops, and even offered to reserve us a place to eat. The accommodations itself is a beautiful traditional Japanese house located 5 minutes to furukawa station, right besides the beautiful cannal street which is lightly illuminated at night. Besides that the place was very clean and the futon were arranged beforehand. In the morning we received a bento for all of us which contained a nice Japanese style breakfast which we really enjoyed. Even though hida furukawa is a small village, there are places to eat dinner in and there are konbinis around. A very pleasant stay at a beautiful, clean and traditional Japanese house in the countryside of Japan. Surely a very memorable stay. Recommended!

Towels and bed linen are offered in the holiday home. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing. The place was immaculate and had everything we needed. We had a great sleep in a comfy bed. Nice bonus to have a coffee machine for the mornings too! The house is on a quiet residential street, very peaceful. Walking distance to Nagoya Castle and beautiful Meijo park.
