Also DO NOT skip the dinners there as Leel's mother and wife cook the most amazing Sri Lankan food. You will not be disappointed to book them. He is also a problem solver so any questions you have just let him know. I'm so happy we picked this homestay and got to know Leel and his family a bit and enjoy their place. Also great communication leading up to our stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

EdenHaven cottage is most definitely a garden of Eden and a Haven from the rat race. the cottages are both modern and traditional with striking little artisan touches. the shower room is beautifully appointed. the outdoor private veranda was most relaxing, the lighting, natural teak wood floors and furniture are all the inspiration and imagination of a most hospitable and charming young man Anju. he couldn’t have arranged and done more for my husband and I. our breakfast, evening meals were varied, tasty and juicy. waking up to and settling into the evenings were harmonious, the garden produced the sounds of nature that send you to sleep and invite a new day. i can’t say enough about this open , warm, genuine family hospitality. i didn’t want you to leave. last but not least. my husband, Anju and his safari colleague Lasindu arranged to have my 61st birthday breakfast within the safari on top of a plateau overlooking the national park. cake , presents and a wonderful rendition of happy birthday could be heard by the whole national park… tearful and most privileged to have such attention to genuine detail. Anju and Lasindu and ian of course. thank you from the bottom of my heart for one of thee most memorable experiences.

It was the best-equipped room we had in Sri Lanka. Amil and his wife are hard working and good people . They do their best and succeed in making you fell welcome and at ease. The breakfast and the other meals were good and plentiful. They organized our transfer from Sigirya with a professional driver and very nice person( Priyante). If we come back to Udawalawe we would choose again this lovely place.

What a wonderful place to stay. Even better than the photos. The room was pristine and well equipped, with WiFi, AC, hot showers, mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English. The garden is beautiful and immaculately maintained, it really was a green paradise. The food was delicious, we tasted lots of different traditional Sri Lankan dishes with generous portions provided. The aubergine curry was a particular highlight. Highly recommend booking your Safari through the hosts, we did and it was a treat. Our guide was fantastic and he joyfully shared his knowledge and passion for animals with us. We saw lots of Elephants including babies and many other animals and birds, which we think was only possible due to his local knowledge. Don’t miss your chance to stay here if you’re in the area.

The shower was warm and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was also very good. We sat on the balcony for a few hours watching the sun set and the wildlife and it was so peaceful. The staff also helped us with booking the Udawalawe national park safari and even paid for a tuktuk to the bus station.

The staff were friendly and welcomed us like family, and the homemade food was delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and adventurous getaway!
