The national park is the main draw for the area and Leel himself arranged and guided us and shared a lot of knowledge about the animals but also the plants and ecosytems. Couldn't ask for more. Also DO NOT skip the dinners there as Leel's mother and wife cook the most amazing Sri Lankan food. You will not be disappointed to book them. He is also a problem solver so any questions you have just let him know. I'm so happy we picked this homestay and got to know Leel and his family a bit and enjoy their place. Also great communication leading up to our stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

Honestly one of my favourite places I've stayed in so far, gayan was beyond helpful and organised/booked an amazing safari for me as well as providing plenty of extra water just in case and binoculars, very knowledgeable (definitely listen to his suggestions!), and will help with absolutely anything! I was put at ease straight away - truly such a kind and thoughtful host! The home cooked meals were some of the best food ive had in sri lanka! I definitely would recommend, I had the best weekend!

They gave me traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and also I asked for dinner in the evening which was so welcome having arrived at 7 and travelling by bus to get there. One of the family also ran safaris, so organised it through them really easily and I had an amazing time seeing a whole family of elephants by the lake-very lucky!
