It was all just wonderful. A beautiful hotel. Wonderful rooms. Superb breakfast. Wonderful staff.

We got a very good room price because the Hotel restaurant was closed for refurbishment and it was the middle of November. The Hotel is in a great location, situated just before the road bridge across the river and is very elegantly designed, furnished and decorated. A modern glass lift serves the floors and looks very smart. Our Room 102 was huge with a very high ceiling decorated with painted freizes . The large double bed, had a padded bench at its foot and a very comfortable leather settee, a dressing table, minibar, electric kettle with a variety of teas (although no coffee or milk). Apparently new coffee machines are on order for all rooms. There was also a decent sized TV, Air conditioning an alcove for luggage and a large wardrobe. Lighting was very good with a number of options available including very good directional bedside reading lamps. The huge ensuite bathroom was wonderful, with scales, a hairdryer, great lighting including a very smart mirror over the basin, with not only a built in time display but also an illuminated magnified zone for make up or shaving. There was also another make up mirror on an adjustable arm to ensure all angles were covered! A large and very effective shower enclosure made showering a pleasure. Copious luxurious towels and and badged slippers completed the scene. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and answered every conceivable question with ease. Finally breakfast. This was buffet style with all manner of cakes, biscuits, breads, cheeses and fruit and cereal provided along with hot bacon and scrambled eggs. Even at the full rate this hotel would have been a joy to stay at - we are looking forward to returning to be pampered and try the restaurant.
