Location of the hotel is fantastic. The room was nice with spectacular sea view. Hotel personnel were very friendly. Both restaurants (rooftop and sea view) were of high quality. Especially japanese type rooftop restaurant very good. Easy access from the hotel to the pools.

Perched on a cliff facing the Atlantic Ocean, this design hotel is within a renovated traditional farmhouse. The view was amazing. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the hotel was very delicious with plenty things to choose.

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is set in Funchal, 500 metres from Marina do Funchal. Perfect location in the centre of Funchal, but very quiet surroundings. Wonderful breakfast with plenty of fresh food, also made on request. A lot of local fresh fruits. Extremely helpful personnel. Goncalo recommended us several places to eat and enjoy Funchal - all of them were just great for us. Well equipped spa. We also had a massage in the hotel. Good bar on the ground floor. We did not have time to enjoy the pool bar on the roof. We made a reservation for 2 nights, but finally we have stayed 7 nights. Unforgettable stay.

With 400 meters of private sea front, the 5-star property offers spacious rooms all with balcony and views of the Atlantic and the Deserted Islands. Overall, we loved everything here. I'm serious, it was perfect and met all my expectations and I spent some of the best days of my life here.

I spent 5 wonderful days in the hotel with 2 kids. We all liked a lot breakfasts , where we found different meal on our taste! Our appartment was really big with 2 rooms, super clean and nice with evetything needed inside! First few days it was windy, so we used to go to the inside swimming pool with jacuzzi and saunas. My kids loved this time-spending and it was very relaxed for me as well: after all day walking to swim in warm water and to get rest. The area with outside swimming pool looks much better and bigger than on the photos and it has a wonderdull views for the ocean and nature around! Very beautiful beach wit rocks is in 5 minutes walking from the hotel!

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. We loved everything about this property. I searched for weeks trying to find not just a nice place to stay, but now that also offered peaceful surroundings. We found it at ARTS. The property is located in a residential area of Funchal with private homes. If you're going to the center of town, you may walk (10 minutes, easy, all downhill), or take the bus (about 8 minutes - leaves you practically in front of the hotel). We never used our rental car while in Funchal. The gardens are lush and tropical, and also beautifully maintained and very clean. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a mix of elegant antique furniture and crisp modern touches and architectural details. Breakfast is offered in a gorgeous interior dining area, or outside in the patio, with views of Funchal harbor, city, and the ocean. The parking area is covered and ample. The hotel is very pet-friendly - our little Django loved it. We stayed here twice. The first room was very large, the bedding (pillows and mattress) was comfortable, and it was very clean. A comfortable bed is a must for us! The rooms are soundproof - It was always very quiet and we never heard any of the other guests - ever. The bathroom and kitchen were both large, and everything was very clean. On our return to Funchal at the end of our trip, we stayed at this property for a second time and upgraded to one of the suites. WOW! If you can splurge, it's worth it. It made our stay even more special. It's a small apartment. With all of the above, but a spectacular terrace, high ceilings, an even bigger bathroom with double sinks a walk-in shower, and an even bigger kitchen. And again... everything was spotless. But the crown jewel is the staff - fantastic, all of them. They made us and Django feel right at home. If you are traveling to Funchal, look no further. This property is PERFECT.

Set within tropical gardens on Madeira Island, this charming guesthouse features far-reaching sea views and 2 outdoor seawater pools and access to the sea. Breakfast was delicious, some components are different every day, there are tables on open air and inside, great view to the garden. Our building in the center of garden was very interesting, in old style, with many specific details on the walls, near the stairs... Beds are perfect, from open window you see the sea and listen the birds... There is see water in swimming pool, very comfortable and clean.. We asked for rent a car and the men from reception solved the problem during 5 min. Great!

Probably the comfiest hotel bed we've ever slept in - the quality of the sheets, matress and pillows was incredible. we got a free upgrade to a suite, the room was enormous and beautiful, with a freestanding bathtub. Breakfast was delicious, the hotel design was very fun. Beautiful rooftop pool and bar. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Would love to go back!

The location is breathtaking, and all the shared facilities are the best: the pull, the Jacuzzies, all the sitting spots, it seems that every inch in this place got attention in design. The rooms are big and comfy. We stayed in a room with a direct spot to the sunset and it was beautiful. The breakfast is very good, but above all the host is the nicest man. He take care for everythink that we asked and gave us his number in the days he weren’t there to tell him if something is wrong. This was the perfect place!
