Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Awesome view from this hotel combined with a great breakfast made this a real treat for us. Together with the great weather for this time of the year we really enjoyed the outdoor areas.

Excellent service from the moment you enter the hotel. All staff extremely friendly. Nice rooftop pool and bar/lounge. Rooms have everything you need. Left before breakfast but got a breakfast box that had more food than I could eat. Free spa admission with a steam room and Turkish bath complimentary. Nice restaurant and ambiance throughout the hotel. Highly recommended.

The hotel is really great - nice location next to the city center, spacious rooms equipped with kitchenette, really tasty breakfast, lovely surroundings and exceptional staff. Set within tropical gardens on Madeira Island, this charming guesthouse features far-reaching sea views and 2 outdoor seawater pools and access to the sea. Incredible location. Breakfast had such a variety of food and delicious! Everyone was so kind! Nice size room as well, shower and tub!

Beautiful oasis of a place with really well done interiors, amenities including an infinity pool and jacuzzi and a sauna. The room was wonderful 10/10
