the town had a nice plaza (centro) area with some good restaurants. Appeared to have a good size market area next to the plaza although we did not go thru it. We were in town to visit the thermal pools at Grutas Tolatonga and that was easily accessible from this townDebraUnited States

Our hosts were very helpful and always contactable. It is also very accessible by public transport. We travelled from Mexico City and were able to get off the bus at Terminal La Huasteca, a 5minute walk from the property. We got the bus (ovnibus) back to CDMX from the same terminal. A perfect place to stay when visiting Grutas de Tolantongo! The only problem was our stay was too short. Ixmiquilpan is a charming spot!GráinneIreland

Excellent place to stay that is a short 4-5 minute walk from where the bus will drop/pick you up in Ixmiquilpan. From the hotel, you must walk about 15-20 minutes to the downtown local bus station near San Antonio. The first bus to the grutas is at 9:30a, last bus back is 5:30p. The ride is 70 pesos and around 1hr 15 mins. There are expensive lockers at the grutas.DominicUnited States

The room is spacious, you have a good shower with hot water. 15 minutes walk to the center. When we went to Tolantongo to stay their for one night, we left most of our stuff here in our room in this hotel. It's so cheap that you can use this room as a store room on one or two nights.RafaelAustria

A large, clean and comfortable room in a good location, what more could you ask for for this price. I've paid a lot more for a lot less in this country. If you come to Ixmiquilpan for Las Grutas de Tolantongo, try to spend the day on a Monday for market day, it's a great market
