You can tell there is a lot of heart in this chateau. It is run by a man and his kind (adult) daughter. She can speak English and French and he speaks French and Dutch. There was a lovely breakfast for us each morning with candlelight which my daughters loved, and we ate at a time no one else did so my girls had a bit more wiggle room. The far neighbours have a cow farm which was nice to entertain the children during breakfast. There is a playground outside and a large field to play in, inside there are boardgames and beautiful traditional wooden games. The children were spoiled for choice here. I was a little apprehensive about the shared bathroom I had read on booking.com, but was happily surprised when we were shown a very modern private shower with multiple jets and a sink just for your room located one floor away with it's own bathrobes, more like a spa feeling. It was fantastic, there was character for me and space for my city kids to entertain and wiggle. I would definitely go back again when I am in the area.
