I have not experienced such phantastic location in my world wide travels--if you have a room fronting the sea at high tide and strong brandung. That is if you like the loud voices of the ocean. Another commendable aspect is the clever design of the interor and the tastful design and mixture of decoration with objects of art - local and Asiac. The owner must have exceptionally good taste. Very important and topping the flair of the place is the team of helpers that the owner was able to find and hold. The team members are motivated, smart, helpful,friendly and therefore such avaluable assett to the extent that the owner seems to entrust the operation into their hands during long periods of his absence. That the building is an integral part of this small town at the entrance of the Paul Valley makes it the most convenient location to get to know the out-of-this-wold sights. All this endeared this place to us. Unfortunately I was not able - at age 85 - to promise coming back but I will recommend it to anybody who deserves this wonderfull experience.. We were so glad we discovered this island before TUI mobilizes masses

Very nice, family owned, place to stay. Good location for the main trails (cova and xoxo). Shops and restaurant are very close. New building, comfortable room. You wake up early with the light and noise, but this is normal everywhere in the island and is good to start your walk on time ;) Breakfast is great, every morning a different option. Great to start the day. João is a very friendly host, who will help you arrange and plan everything you need, we will be back!

This was our first stay on Santo Antao and Marco, who works at the front desk, helped us a ton with logistics and planning and answered our 1 million questions about Cape Verde/Santo Antao. He was super friendly and made us feel at home immediately! The breakfast here was also delicious, the rooms were spacious/clean/bright. A couple restaurants in the vicinity (including Casa Marajuca, which was recommended by a lot of websites and was great). The B&B is right by the ocean but our room had a lovely view of the central garden - we were woken by birds, greenery, and sunlight!

Very friendly and helpful host, Due to a delayed flight Jan let us change our booking very obligingly. He gave us great tips for hikes and restaurants. The nice and clean room was even cleaned during our short stay. A nice terrace was available too. Anytime again!

Staying at Black Mamba was such a great choice! I was traveling with my mother and sister and we absolutely had the best time there. The owner and staff are so welcoming and warm, they made us feel right at home! Also, the food is great and the location is also a plus. It is close to Vale do Paul and very easy catch the colectivos to other parts of the island. We definitely recommend staying here.
