Everything about the property was ideal and exceeded our expectations. The hosts went to a great deal of trouble and care to meet the additional needs due to my limited mobility, often without being asked and suggesting ways to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had been pleased to have been the very first guests in Karoline homestay. It is a very big house where we could freely use the kitchen, living room and the big garden. The rooms are on the top floor and there had been a fully modern and renovated clean bathroom to be shared among the guests. Just around the corner is a community children's playground, tennis field, Minigolf course with 18 holes which is free to use. Also a beautiful hiking path can be started there. Free fast WiFi is available. The host is very friendly, supportive, accommodating and definitely wants to make you feel like at home. It had been so relaxing that we decided to extend our stay some more nights.

Attractive country setting under 20minutes from the A10 motorway. Gite thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials. Huge comfortable bed, tele with excellent picture and sound quality (French channels), use of excellent pool. Availability of laundry service, breakfast and possibility of evening meal on request. Our 3-night stay at Le Clos du Plantis could not have been better. The property is in a serene setting surrounded by flowers and nature. We awoke each morning to birdsong. The ancient Charentais logere has been lovingly and tastefully renovated so that each room and bath are spacious and have a door to the exterior. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the linens are high quality. No skrimping here! Each morning our breakfast was delicious, plentiful and a bit different from the day before. Our hostess made sure we were fully satiated. One night we enjoyed an evening meal, as well, and it, too, was delicious. Sadly the weather was not cooperative to enjoy the inviting pool; however, one evening on the terrace we had a gourmet pizza from a nearby restaurant, while watching the sun go down and turn the evening sky to pink. There also is a comfy, attractive communal sitting area with brochures of points of interest. This accommodation is among the best we have had in France - indeed in any country- since we started frequently traveling in Europe in 2005. The surrounding area has a bounty of interesting places to explore. Whether you want a restful getaway or a base from which to sightsee, Le Clos du Plantis is an exceptional choice. This is rural France at its best, yet close enough to Cognac, Saintes, Royan (beach), Angouleme, and the relatively unknown St-Jean-d'Angely, to enjoy historic and interesting adventures or more sporting activities. And don't forget to sample the pineau, cognac, and wines from the many vintners throughout this region. We look forward to a return visit. It does not get better than this!

A very warm welcome on arrival. The house is beautiful and the garden is huge (estimate 70m long and similar width). A good size swimming pool. Very private, not overlooked by the owners. Dog friendly. The house has been very well renovated and is simply furnished in a typical French style. The garden has swings and a slide for children. The house is in a very quiet, rural area away from the small village. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a good choice Very highly recommended.

I can’t describe how beautiful the place is. Situated in a small cozy village in the middle of the French countryside, the “gite” is very peaceful with a huge garden, own pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The house is spacious and has a modern bathroom and in the kitchen you can find everything you need for cooking including a gas stove which I personally liked very much! The owners really know how to make you feel most welcome, and their friendliness and hospitality give your stay that little extra personal touch. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy too. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay for longer!
