I highly recommend a stay in this truly exceptional French country house. The welcoming hosts greeted us with a bottle of wine and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. The house was extremely well equipped for a comfortable stay, with copious cookware and beautiful serving dishes. The property provided an excellent base for touring the region (Bordeaux, Arcachon beaches, St. Emilion vineyards, prehistoric caves in Dordogne, and Cognac). The property's front and back gardens are very charming, with the back offering fantastic views of the Dordogne River with its mesmerizing tides. The village has a wonderful restaurant, supermarket, and first rate bakery all within walking distance.

The place is really beautiful and has been wonderfully styled. We spent a lot of time outside at the pool, and then relaxing and making dinner. Caroline was a lovely host, and made sure she was available if required.

A lovely choice. Nice mix of informality withouot any compromise to quality. Lovely clean bedroom. Breakfast was really nice with some really nice local products. Dinner was even better the night before after our long drive from the ferry. But most of all, was the welcome we got and esp for our puppy - we'd been nervous as it was his first stay over. He got over the long drive with some lovely walks in the garden and in the vineyards just outside the front gate.
