We went as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They arranged our transport from and to the airport, as well as our trekking into the park. The guide was excellent and we had an extra assistant to help with the kids who was also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend booking all these extras through them. It is a beautiful setting on the river. The cabin was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. They can serve food and have cold drinks for sale. The children really enjoyed playing on the rocks and swimming in the river. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

This guesthouse is truly a gem, Brian makes sure you have an amazing stay! You can tell he really cares about his guests. The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The food is incredible too (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options)! I did a 2 night jungle trek with them as well and everything was very well organised, great food and fruit on the trek, comfortable campsites by the river and close to a waterfall. You could tell that the guide really enjoyed being in nature, he had so much knowledge about the animals and plants and made us feel really safe. I got a bee sting and he had magic oil that made the sting disappear in just 30 min! I had a really great stay and trek with Brian and his team and definitely recommend them and would definitely come back one day! :)

Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans and a few other monkeys. The trek is pretty demanding. It goes up hill and down and up and down. One need to be pretty fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa for your adventures in Bukit Lawang.

Great place for the value! It is a bit further than the town which we liked a lot, as it feels more local. The owners are super helpful, they organized all the tour arrangement and the transportation for us. The food was so delicious! Just a heads up, we didn’t have hot water and soap in the room, so come prepared :)

The location is really cool and quiet, just keep in mind you have to climb up quite some stairs through jungle to reach the accommodation. The room has everything you need and is tidy. The best part however is the staff that is very nice and the delicious food (try the gado gado :) )! We also booked our jungle tour with them and had a great experience - we saw a LOT of animals on a 2D/1N tour. Guides are professional and kind. Definitely recommend if you don't mind a cold shower ;)

The owner is a very kind man who loves the jungle. He is very helpful. Rooms were basic with good fans. Be careful of cheeky monkeys!

Location was good however no breakfast was provided even when it was mentioned in the booking. Mr Tambrin was very courteous and helpful.

Jungle Trek: 10/10. We loved it. Our guides Sarol, Darwin and Cook Mawun were just the best. We saw lots of animals, had lots of fun and learned so many things. Recommendations! Cheeky Monkeys in general: nice and friendly staff, good communication, helpful
