🌟 Amazing Experience at River Roots, Monroe Tourist Stay 🌟 My stay at River Roots was truly memorable! The location is absolutely beautiful — right in front of a peaceful river, surrounded by nature. It gives a true homely feel, perfect for both friends and family. The property is neat, cozy, and well-kept, and the owner, Mr. Karun, personally made sure everything was perfect. The food was excellent, with tasty breakfast, lunch, and dinner available. They even offer morning boat rides, which let us explore the surrounding natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, nature, and comfort in one place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Deepa is a wonderful host. A lovely family with whom to stay in a relatively new concrete bungalow across the street from the river, where the backwater canoe trip picks you up. Good sized room and bath with excellent hot water. A nice porch on which to eat excellent home-cooked meals for breakfast and dinner (dinner costs extra).

This is a true homestay in my eyes and I learned one of the originals on the island. Maintained and managed by the family with such care and attention to detail. The room is spacious and bed is super comfortable, bathrooms have showers with hot water and everything you need is tended to by Appu. He provides amazing suggestions for more to do in Kerala, is a great tour guide (ask him about the choir factory!) and even helped me secure rides to and from their place. His mother also makes delicious meals and breakfast is included in the price, which is such a great deal! I felt very at peace with the nature and beauty of the place. They also offer canoe and kayaking, both are unique in their own way and worth it! And the lake is literally steps away from the place. Truly a gem!

It's a brand new resort and quite clean. Some facilities like TV and a fan in the verandah are in the pipeline we are told. We all liked the niche dining area outside each room in the verandah. Good idea.

I was welcomed by the hosts when I arrived and they were so nice. They directly arranged for me to go kayaking for the sunset and even drove me to the place. Munroe island is stunning and if you are looking for a relaxing stay, Valiyath is a great place where you will be welcomed like a family member. The food was amazing and the location was perfect.
