The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff checking in were wonderful and helped us ship our bags and answered all the questions we had. The breakfast was plenty and delicious. The onsen was amazing and beautiful. We also tried the brick baths and those were very relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Calming and elegant property in a great location. The traditional, 14 mat tatami suite was gorgeous and almost too spacious for two people (can fit up to 6). Futon beds are put away during the day for extra space and set up on the floor during dinner. Comfortable for those who sleep on their backs, but side sleepers may prefer a Western style room. Breakfast and dinner were included in our rate and were delicious, and a bit of a mystery as we don’t speak or read Japanese. Many small, lovely courses served as a set menu. Subtle flavors. At breakfast, don’t miss the Kobe coffee - rocket fuel in a tiny cup! The Onsen was a relaxing luxury, a great way to unwind before dinner. Do as the locals do and enjoy the comfy spa-wear in your room for the bath house and around the property. Service was excellent: we had dropped off our bags in the morning, and they were in our suite at arrival. When we couldn’t figure out how to turn up the heat, someone came up immediately. (The dial labeled “Air Conditioning” = heat.) The front desk kindly made lunch reservations for us at a hard-to-book restaurant.

The most amazing thing is the proximity to many attractions. It is a walking distance to bamboo forest. And if you explore and take the path less taken, you will be rewarded with a picturesque view of the river. If you drive, you get to explore alternatives to the bamboo forest, at the bamboo park. It is more beautiful and peaceful. Not to mention, the accommodation is a good size, clean, neat and fully furnished. I will pick the same accommodation if I want to be back at Kyoto.

Stunning views from the private onsen attached to the room courtyard, you can hear the river at night and see the cherry blossoms and mountains from the tub. A separate bathing tub inside the unit allows you to open the door fully and experience the same sights and sounds. There is a room service to clean, make the beds, restock the fridge, tea, towels, and provide clean yakatas. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and I felt taken care of. The food service was undoubtedly a top highlight to my stay, aside from the serene environment.

The dinner kaiseki is great! The location is absolutely amazing. It's a bridge away from the main town, 20 min walk away from the bamboo forest, and right next to the monkey park. I really liked the private onsen as I went there with just my partner.

Everything. The room is so nice modern and chic. Location is by the bridge. Staff is very nice and friendly. Breakfast is healthy and delicious. I stayed 3 nights for the breakfast. Chef tried to change to different menu for me. The bus stop is just 2 min walk.
