Family hotels and homes in Taketoyo

Tokoname, one of the ceramic art towns of Japan is a charming place next to Chubu Airport (which is very convenient to visit Gifu and Nagoya). Even if you decide to stay here because of your flight or because you want to visit this place I recommend you stay ay Hills House Second. We had a wonderful time there :D 1. OWNER. The owner is super kind. She really makes sure that all her guests feel confortable (there were even some winter flowers in our room. How cute is that! :D). She also gave us a map to visit Tokoname, which was a very nice detail! *For the overseas travellers, she speaks good English, so don't worry :D 2. LOCATION. The guesthouse is located on a hill (hence the name) in front of the giant manekineko (tokonyan) It is very convenient to visit Tokoname. 3. FACILITIES. The place is amazing! It is full of ceramic art and the house itself looks like from a fairy tale. My boyfriend and I loved the common room. It had some musical instruments that you can play and books and guides in different languages. Other details There is a bathroom and a shower located in different floors. it is possible to use the kitchen. it is possible to buy soft drinks, beer or green tea in the hotel. it has free parking! it has a wonderful garden! (I believe it will be amazing in spring!) We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back!! Thank you so much!! :D

Really unique place and kind hosts!

We stayed there one night because it is very close to the airport (12 minutes by car). The hosts were very nice and friendly. We had to get breakfast quite early in the morning because my flight was at 9:30, but they even prepared boiled eggs for us :D! Thank you so much!!

If we can have more shuttle bus transferred between airport and the hotel, that would be very convenient.

Love the size of the room and kind hospitality of the staff. Location to airport is really near, just 1 train stop away and 5 mins walk to Aeon Tokoname.

Rinaさん, the owner of this guesthouse has such a fascinating history with the house. I’m so inspired by her bravery, courage, and determination. It was also easy to communicate in either English or Japanese. The guesthouse is an easy walk from Tokoname pottery footpath, the museum, Tokoname train station, free shuttle station, convenient store, cute cafes, a supermarket, and temple. Speaking of the free shuttle, I recommend taking advantage of it as it’s air conditioned and can take you to AEON mall, mentaiko park, Costco, the boat race, station, and other attractions. Many aspects of the house allowed me to enjoy a cozy residential life during my travels: * Fully equipped kitchen with Tokoname pottery ware, basic sauces, and beverages * Washing machine with detergent, line drying equipment, and laundry nets * Toilet, many sinks, toner, and hairdryers * Ventilated shower with shampoo, conditioner, body soap * A wall full of books and community notes from past guests * Beanbag, sofa, rocking chair * Wifi, air conditioning, and Bluetooth speaker * Tatami matted rooms and towels * Umbrellas and commuter bicycles 🚲 Rinaさんalso helped us during an emergency so I’m extremely grateful for her support and quick response. Thank you so much for letting me stay. I had a healing trip while listening to the summer cicadas in the day and soothing crickets at night 🙏
