I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

Taiyuan does not have good public transport, so taxis are the only viable option from the railway stations. The room is spacious and offers the quality one would expect at this price and star level. The staff speak passable English – something that is, unfortunately, becoming increasingly rare in China these days.

The staff was amazing, very helpful and nice, made us feel at home. The room was clean and confortable. Breakfast was also good, american style.

Featuring a shower, private bathrooms also come with free toiletries and slippers. Extras include a desk and a kettle. The staffs were absolutely amazing. One of the best services I have seen so far. The hotel offers free minibar for guests and breakfast is on ala carte basis and food quality is top notch. The hotel is located in ancient Pingyao city (no car zone). Taxi would have to drop guests off at main road which is few minutes walk to the hotel. I would recommend guests to take up pick up and drop off services offered by the hotel as all streets in Pingyao looks the same (like maze) and it's relatively easy to get lost while trying to find the hotel on your own.

Great location, huge clean room and bathroom, big windows, I really like it. The breakfast selection is great, you can find everything, chinese and western food too. Next time again...
