Comwell Holte – The reception is excellent and very welcoming. There is ample parking for hotel guests, and the location is great, outside the city in a quiet area, yet you can easily reach Copenhagen. However, the breakfast is very poor with limited options, and the attitude of some staff members is unpleasant. Room cleaning must be requested a day in advance, which was inconvenient during our 5-night stay. The shower water pressure is weak and not strong enough for a comfortable shower.

Set in a North Zealand manor house, this hotel is within 10 minutes’ drive of Helsingør. It offers a large spa, gourmet cuisine and a gym. Comwell Borupgaard’s bright rooms include cable TV channels.

The location is perfect with a broad view of the sound between Denmark and Sweden. The grounds are green and well kept, the architecture of the hotel and spa are tasteful and there are ample lounge space inside with comfortable sofa nooks. The rooms are very well and thoughtfully appointed with extremely comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel has a swimming jetty across the street with several benches on which to sunbathe. The ladders into the water are very securely arranged against slipping. In addition to swimming pleasures, there is also a lot of hiking trails in the forest surrounding the hotel, and bicycles are available. One more bonus: the s-train that links you with downtown Copenhagen is two steps away from the hotel.
