Comwell Holte – The reception is excellent and very welcoming. There is ample parking for hotel guests, and the location is great, outside the city in a quiet area, yet you can easily reach Copenhagen. However, the breakfast is very poor with limited options, and the attitude of some staff members is unpleasant. Room cleaning must be requested a day in advance, which was inconvenient during our 5-night stay. The shower water pressure is weak and not strong enough for a comfortable shower.

The location is perfect with a broad view of the sound between Denmark and Sweden. The grounds are green and well kept, the architecture of the hotel and spa are tasteful and there are ample lounge space inside with comfortable sofa nooks. The rooms are very well and thoughtfully appointed with extremely comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel has a swimming jetty across the street with several benches on which to sunbathe. The ladders into the water are very securely arranged against slipping. In addition to swimming pleasures, there is also a lot of hiking trails in the forest surrounding the hotel, and bicycles are available. One more bonus: the s-train that links you with downtown Copenhagen is two steps away from the hotel.

Set in a quiet, seaside location besides forests and parks, this hotel is located in an old fishing village, 5 minutes’ walk from Bellevue Beach in Charlottenlund.

Very close to the sea, just a 100m walk directly to the seashore crossing a road, there was an excellent bathing platform where you can jump to the surprisingly clean water. Water was 16.5 Celsius in June, very refreshing but surprisingly pleasant for jumping and swimming a bit in the otherwise hot, sunny wheather. Good that there were some locals there and warned me that there was a big jelly fish just beside the platform - but as I learned as long as you watched not to jump on it, it was fine. There was a very small other one also there, but apart from these two did not see others and people were jumping / swimming. I did not dare though to swim more, did not want to meet another one, but still jumping to the extremely fresh water was really great, I enjoyed it.

Located in Ballerup, a 20-minute drive from Copenhagen city center, is Hotel Lautrup Park.
