We had an excellent stay at the Maha Bodhi Hotel and Resort, and it is likely the best hotel in the Bodh Gaya area. The Staff went out of their way to check that we had transportation to where we were going and to give good and friendly advice about traveling in the town. There was an excellent New Years party, and the hospitality at all times in the restaurant was wonderful! We had a minor issue with the toilet flush, which was fixed immediately. Housekeeping did a lovely job every day to clean the room. Very attentive service. The room was spacious, and we were also very happy with the closet and storage in the room. There was also a safe. We felt safe and secure in the hotel. The hotel is a little bit away from the loud town center--which is a very good thing. It only costs USD$3 to go to town in taxi or tuktuk with multiple passengers. The Management do their utmost to provide a first class experience. We felt welcome at the hotel and found the food and beverages in the hotel to be delicious, clean, nutritious, and with very good variety. We felt peaceful at the hotel, and we also enjoyed use of the swimming pool. The grounds of the hotel are very nice, and the hotel has an excellent presentation. Dignitaries and government leaders stay at this hotel, and it is for good reason. Very professional service and a very hard-working staff.
