(Beef tendon stew amazed me!) but I wish they could have more choices too. Public bath was great but its indoor so its a little stuffy. However they have few windows above so after opened window it felt less stuffy. Steam room is great ~ strong steam and hot enough. Room is really comfortable and the amenities they provided are good quality.

Comfortable bed, huge room, great amenities, clean, Chromecast, speaker in the room, staff were absolutely exceptional and went above and beyond in everything they did, the breakfast was incredible (sadly we didn't get to try dinner) and the staff were great at helping us with getting a meal without meat, and most importantly, the view and the bath were truly incredible. Definitely a place we'll be back to.

I would like to have left a review letter but I forgot because I was pressed for flight time. So I leave my review here: Overall, it was all great. Room condition, onsen(condition and number of), food, staff. I've been to ryokan a few times, this ryokan was better than I expected. Actually it kept on raining during my stay. Usually, I don't like rainy days but I've change my mind-a scenery of rainy day have a charm of its own, it does. Sitting in the open-air bath and watching the rain-soaked mountain and valley was rest and relaxation I imagined. I'll recommend to my friends that Sanso Tensui will be best choice for get away from hustle and bustle. It was a little difficult to get there, but it was worth it.

The place in near the station and shops and the lake are walkable. The experience of using the private onsen outside with garden view is best.
