The location is so beautifully isolated and you have a real sense of being in nature … the stars at night were incredible. The team at Wild Hut were fantastic: understated unobtrusive exceptionally attentive.. Isuru was a wonder : full of knowledge about the environment and taught us the importance of “ knowing what you’re looking for “ when spotting wild life in the park. We felt safe and looked out forat all times whilst also feeling free to explore this incredible place for ourselves. Sunset on the rock playing cards drinking tea and listening to the wildlife will be a cherished memory forever . Thankyiu Yala Wild Hut and especially Isuru the lucky for a truly magical stay J🙏🏽 the food was great especially the lunchtime curry and the bbq too , and communication pre and during stay was excellent, and very helpful with arranging transport .

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. It was such a fabulous stay. The tent was very comfortable and we were not too hot at all. The food was delicious. My favourite was the rice. The chef Jayalath did an amazing job and breakfast too was delicious. Madushan looked after us really well. Always with a smile and happy to help with everything. They arranged the safari for us which was fantastic. Supan our driver was all over it. Safe driver. He spotted things that only a trained eye would. He was friendly and fun. Highly recommend. Jayalath cooked us an amazing packed lunch. Eating outside by the campfire with oil lights was fabulous. We even had a crocodile who liked our left overs. The two dogs onsite were amazing. I really felt they protected the children especially. If they walked somewhere one or both dogs went with them. They slept on our porch at night. We were just charmed.

Situated in Tanamalwila, 34 km from Udawalawe National Park and 26 km from Tissa Wewa, Thanamal-villa features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden with a barbecue. Best homestay I’ve stayed in during my 3 months of SE Asia travel. Location was ideal, activities were unbelievable, and the most hospitable hosts imaginable. I will be telling all of my fellow travelers to stay here for a long time to come. Make sure to book their safari. We were lucky enough to have a leopard walk 10ft in front of us and watch a baby elephant and its mom. Although, it still would have been beautiful without seeing any animals. The host mother made us the best curry spread we will probably ever eat for as long as we live.

The food was great - we had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners - all was tasty :-) The walk in the bush was very nice The rooms are comfortable and located in the middle of the wild bushes and trees - this is very unique - each room/tent is isolated from the rest
