Very friendly, kind, and helpful staff. We enjoyed the onsen, as well as the open-air bath on our patio. We dined in both izikaya restaurant and also the chef's set-menu. Both were fantastic! They even made a special vegetarian meal which was so delicious! Such a great place and the free shuttle from Okayama Station was very easy to arrange.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, なかつい陣屋 is located in Fujita, 20 km from Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake and 21 km from Raikyuji Temple. Sakamoto-san was very nice. I arrived by bus and he offered to drive me to the supermarket and various other places. Every evening I could enjoy a traditional japanese bath. The surrounding area is beautiful.

A great little farm stay hostel. Facilities are modest (bunk bed shared accommodation) and well maintained. Owner and host Sakisan is lovely and we had a fun evening with her and other fellow travellers and hearing some traditional music being played. Some caring and thoughtful touches to the facilities. We had a good overnight sleep and rest before continuing our journey, and enjoyed waking up to the lovely Mimasaka country-side. Great value and a memorable experience. Thank you Saki-san!

Situated in Maniwa, 22 km from Shoka Museum Ikegamitei and 23 km from Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake, 北房まちの駅 ゲストハウス offers a garden and air conditioning. The owner was so lovely and helpful. pointed out local places to see etc. the place itself is very traditional and you feel like you are really in Japan here. we had the place to ourselves, so it was really quiet,but our room was open to the stairs above the walls to the shared kitchen below, but eveyone goes to bed early anyway.
